I open my eyes but quickly close them again. The lights hurt. I slowly open them again, letting them adjust to the light. I lift my head and regret it instantly. My vision gets blurry and I get dizzy. I lay my head back down and sigh. I look down at myself, I'm wearing a hospital gown and there's an IV in my hand. Why am I in the hospital?
I hear the door open. I lift my head again, ignoring the dizziness, and see a women walking in. She sees me and her eyes widen. She fast walks over to me.
"Oh honey, you're finally awake!"
"Uhm, who are you?"
"I'm your mom. Peyton, are you okay?"
"I don't know who you are or who Peyton is. Please leave."
She gives me a sad look and walks out.
A few seconds later she walks back in with man. He's dressed in a suit and looks old.
"Hello Peyton. I'm Dr. Avery, you've been out for 3 weeks. Do you remember why you're here?"
"I don't know who Peyton is."
"You're Peyton. Now do you remember why you're here?"
"No. Who is that women with you?"
"That's your mother. Now I'm going to tell you why you are here, okay?"
"Okay."
"You were at a party and you got drunk. When you passed out the first time you threw up in your sleep. You woke up and started coughing it up then you started throwing up even more. Your friend found you and got you here as fast as she could. But on the way here you started choking really bad and blacked out. We couldn't get you to wake up. We thought you were dead at first but you had a pulse. So we did all the normal test on you and found out what was wrong."
"I don't remember any of that."
"Well you were really drunk so I don't expect you to but you should remember who you are."
"Well I don't."
My 'mom' starts crying. I don't know why she's so upset.
"I'll try to figure out why. There's one more thing I need to tell you."
"What?"
"You're pregnant."
"I can't be pregnant. I'm a virgin!"
"I guess not. The blood test shows that you are pregnant."

For the next few days doctors come in and talk to me. I'm still not sure why. All I know is that my name is Peyton, I'm from Kentucky, and I'm pregnant. I still don't understand how I'm pregnant. I don't remember having sex with anyone. Well I don't remember anything at all.
The women that says she's my mom is staring at me from across the room. The doctor should be back any minute to talk to her about something.
He enters the room and she motions for him to come over to her. She tries to talk quietly but I hear what she's saying.
"I think I know someone who can help her remember. He was her boyfriend but they broke up about 3 months ago. They were best friends before that and did everything together since they were little."
"What is his name? I'll call him."
"Josh Hutcherson."
