Running. Just keep on running Kylie. Don't stop running. I look back to see if it has caught up to me, but I didn't see it. I found a big tree and hid behind it. I can hear it calling out my name, and it sounds like a man. Everything went quiet... What's happening? I look back and nothing is there. When I look away, he's standing right in front of my face. His brown eyes are burning in my soul.

"What do you want from me?" I whispered.

I wake up drenched in sweat. I check the time, it reads 5:04 AM. I might as well get up for the day since I'm obviously not going to get any more sleep.

After showering, brushing my teeth and hair, and getting dressed, I look in the mirror. The person in the reflection disgusted me. I sighed and tried to push those thoughts out of my head. I couldn't go back to becoming that person, not again. I pointed out the things out that I liked about myself. I'm not that tall, which is nice. I have long dark brown hair, and I'm kinda good at makeup. Now that I see myself, I kinda like how I look. For the longest time, I didn't like myself.

I walked downstairs and immediately regretted it.

"Hey, Kylie!" My mom's boyfriend said to me. He walks up to me and got really close.

"I hope we can forget about the past, I have changed, and I really like your mom." He whispered in my ear and walked away. I shuddered.

I walked back upstairs and started packing my things. I started with my closet then to my bathroom.

I finally finished after 4 hours. I didn't know what else to do, and I didn't know when the flight is. My mom was already finished too, she did most of it when I was at school yesterday. I walked downstairs and found my mom making an early lunch.

"Hey, sweetie! Did you finish packing?" She asked.

"Uh, yeah... Listen, mom, I talked to dad earlier this morning, and I decided since I'm 16, and I haven't seen him for 3 years, I'm going to move in with him. I can't live with your boyfriend anymore, not after what he did to you. He should've never put his hands on you." I explained.

"Wow, I don't really think that's a great id-" I cut her off.

"Mom, I guess I forgot to tell you this, but I don't care what you say. It's not really up to you anymore, It's up to me technically since I'm old enough to decide, and I decided that I can have better than this, so I'm moving in with dad. My flight is in 1 hour okay?" I know that I didn't have to use the guilt card, but it's the only thing that works.

"Well honey, I guess I can't disagree with that. Since your flight is so soon, why don't I drive you to the airport?"

"Yeah mom, I'd love that" I smiled.

My dad lives in a small town in Virginia, named Mystic Falls. Its population is about 5,247 people. I went upstairs to change and get ready.

When it was time to go, I was more than excited, even though I wasn't really looking forward to starting the new school in the end of the semester.
