Chapter 4

PICTURE ABOVE IS DEREK.

Then I saw him. He was extremely beautiful, statue-like. He was tall, about 6'3, He had dark brown hair, and what looks like, hazel eyes. He was definitely muscular and you could see the outline of his arms. He walked to his lunch table, I thought he didn't even notice me, but I thought wrong. He looked back at me and caught me staring, and before I looked away, I wanted to see his reaction. He looked concerned, anxious, and curious. I looked away, I was confused.

"Oooh, Kylie, Derek is totally checking you out, which is odd, considering that he never even gives someone a second glance." Her tone had a hint of jealousy... Why would anyone be jealous of me? I'm nothing special, just completely ordinary.

Why he paid attention to me, made me confused, nervous, and excited. No guy would pay attention to me, I wasn't likable. I wasn't popular, so what made me stand out?

After lunch, I went into Movie Literature, and of course, Derek was in there.

"Ah, Miss Adams, it's nice for you to join us." The teacher said.

"Sorry, I got lost..."

"Hmmm, well since it is your first day here, then I'll let this one go. But next time is a detention... There is only one desk open, so please take a seat by Mr. Evans."

Of course, right by Derek, I thought to myself. I walked to my desk, dropped my stuff down, and took a seat. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see him staring at me.

"Mr. Evans, please do the honor and explain to Miss Adams what we are watching" He instructed.

"Uh, Yeah, sure. We're watching a William Shakespeare movie, Romeo and Juliet, A classic." He muttered, with an attitude.

"Thanks, Mr. Evans." the teacher said.

I rolled my eyes and waited for the class to be over. I knew that him liking me was a long shot. I just paid attention to this class, hoping it would help the time pass faster.

I waited outside for my dad on the bench in front of the school. Derek walked out and he stopped when he noticed me. He looked at me with the dirtiest look ever. If looks could kill, I'd be in my grave. I don't know what I did to him.

My dad picked me up, and we had a silent car ride. When we got home, we ordered my favorite kind of pizza, Hawaiian. Pineapples belong on pizza. After dinner, I went to my room and did my homework, which I finished in about 20 minutes it was a light homework load. I took a shower, got dressed in my favorite pj's, and laid down in my bed. I was finally about to fall into a deep sleep until I hear an ear piercing scream. I jump up and look out the window, but I see nothing. there's nothing there, but I swear I heard it. I crawl back into bed, and after an hour, I finally drift into a dreamless sleep.

I get up early the next day, and to my surprise, The ground is filled with snow, enough to get school called off. Ugh, I hate snow. I hate the cold but I absolutely love the rain. I decide to sleep in since we don't have any school. 

When I wake up, I'm surprised that I slept until 4:00 pm. I get up and go downstairs to grab some food, and decide to watch a movie, one of my favorites, Twilight. 

After I finish the movie, it's around 5:30. I walk upstairs to pee, and when I've finished washing my hands, I get a call from Ana.

"Hey Ky! What are you doing right at this very moment?" She asks me.

"To be completely honest, nothing." 

"Well, I am about to go to this awesome party, and I want you to come, since your new and all."

"Okay, yeah, why not."

"Cool!!! Just text me your address and I'll pick you up in an hour." She said, enthusiastically.

"Yep,  see you." I hung up and texted her. After, I got my outfit, which was a skin-tight red dress. I also picked out a pair of black heels. I caked on my makeup and curled my hair. Just as I was finishing up, Ana texted me and told me she was outback. 

"Hey, Ana! I'm so glad you invited me!"

"Me too!" She pointed to a skinny girl with blonde hair "This is Alexis, I've known her forever!"

"Hey." She said, but clearly, she was distracted by her phone. We started driving to this party, which I got some information. The party was hosted by a popular guy in school, named Jason. But unfortunately, that's all the information that I could get. When we arrived, I saw Derek. I tried not to complain, but I did without realizing it.

After what seemed like hours of partying, which I didn't take one sip of alcohol, neither did Anastasia, but I couldn't say the same about Alexis. She was hammered. We started talking, and somehow we ended up talking about the woods behind Jason's house. So, like anyone, we went into it. Soon enough, we found out that we were lost.

"Ky!! I think we're lost!" Ana whispered to me.

"Shh! I hear footsteps." I hushed them. the footsteps got closer and closer, and soon enough, we were running. I don't know what from but from something.

After what seemed like forever, I stopped running. Then I heard a scream.

"Kylie! Did you hear that?" Ana managed to say. I ignored her and walked towards the screams. I stopped when I saw a man huddled over someone. It didn't look like anything bad, but then the man stood up. I saw blood.

"YOU BETTER RUN, I CAN SMELL YOU FROM HERE, AND I CAN'T CONTROL MYSELF, LADIES." He yelled.

We started to run for miles. We eventually found our way out of the woods and ran to Ana's car. We drove in silence as she dropped me off at home. I got out of the car and managed upstairs to the shower. I showered and went to bed.

At 3:00 am, I was awoken by a knock on my door.
