It was a rainy evening, yet this didn't stop him going to his favourite music store; the streets were mostly empty with some cars passing by, splashing the water on the pavement. Silently walking down the desolate streets with a coffee in his hand, he made his way to his destination, his fringe getting soaked on his way there as he didn't bother putting his hood over it.
As he got closer to the store, faint music could be heard; the melody was graceful and full of emotions. His footsteps quickened as he intensely listened, not wanting to miss a single note. Reaching his goal, he stood outside the glass doors contemplating whether to go in or not, he didn't want the comforting music to stop. After a few moments passed the rain got heavier, as if following the climax of the song, he decided to make his way in as quietly as possible to not disturb the person. Managing to get in unnoticed he leaned against the doorframe as he admired the girl playing the shiny black piano. Her hair was made into a messy bun that was slightly wet, however, her clothes seemed fairly dry indicating she was here for awhile.
The male was so enveloped in the beautiful melody that he didn't realize it was slowly coming to an end, the last notes being left echoing through the empty store. Once she played the last note she retracted her hands and placed them either side, leaning on them for support. Now, the only thing both their ears could hear was the harsh raindrops that were hitting the glass windows.
"Still not perfect," her voice was quiet yet clear it was followed by a sigh as her head dropped forwards in defeat,
"What's not perfect?" he questioned while feeling the need to know more, this made her turn to face him. Her fringe was stuck to her forehead due to rain as it fell just above her eyes; she had fair, pale skin that matched her neutral, emotionless eyes. Pushing up her black-rimmed glasses, that framed her eyes perfectly,
"How long have you been standing there?" she questioned while turning back around to face the white and black keys, "I thought I closed the door," she murmured as she started to play with the hem of her shirt,
"For quite awhile," he replied while walking towards the piano, "so, what's not perfect?" Yoongi persisted as he came to a stop next to the piano where he could see her face,
"Everything." After letting out a sigh she reached over to her discarded bag, that was sat by the stool, and took out some crumpled music sheets. "Do you, by any chance, play the piano?" she asked in a hushed manner while turning towards him,
"Yes I do, why?" while asking the question, the male dragged over a stool from a nearby piano as he looked at the girl before his eyes landed on the music sheets that were in her hands,
"Would you be able to help me then?" she queried as her previously dull eyes lit up with hope, he nodded as a reply before she decided to introduce herself, "I'm Choi Yerin, it's nice to meet you," she stuck her hand out for a handshake as the male accepted and took her much smaller hand into his grasp,
"I'm Min Yoongi, nice to meet you too" he finished with his famous gummy smile, he saw something flicker through the girl's eyes, but he couldn't' quite put his finger on what it was. Before he could ask her, the defining sounds of thunder rippled through the shop which caused Yerin to tighten her grip on the male's hand. He was surprised at the sudden action before his eyes softened at the sigh of Yerin beginning to shake slightly, "Are you okay?"
"I'm so sorry, I'm fine," she took her hand away from his slightly embarrassed, "I didn't mean to do that, it's just that I'm very afraid of thunderstorms." He chuckled as a return which made the girls cheeks a faint pink colour.
"So about the music," he said glancing at the sheets that she had in between her fingers, somewhat trying to take her mind away from the horrific weather, "how can I help?"
Yerin hesitated a little before finally passing the music sheets to the male. The music was clearly rewritten a few times as you were able to see markings from the previous notes as the pencil was not erased fully. Lyrics to the song were also scribbled all over the page, indicating that she didn't know what to put where or how to match the pace. Yoongi's eyes started to scan the sheets as Yerin was watching his dark orbs move from side to side.
A couple moments flew by as Yerin was beginning to get anxious at the lack of response from Yoongi. Before she could say anything or take the music sheets away from him, Yoongi abruptly stood up before sitting down next to her and in front of the piano keys. After placing the sheets on the inbuilt stand above the keys, his fingers made their way to the correct starting chord. He automatically started playing the melody, his eyes not moving away from the paper in front of him as he didn't want to mess up. He looked at peace when playing the song, as he started to sway from side to side a small smile appeared on his features as Yerin closed her eyes as she listened to him play. The sweet melody soon came to an end leaving something on her mind about it, she shifted her body position to face the male,
"Did you change anything? I didn't hear it be any different," she questioned as the males eyes moved from the sheet to focus on her,
"No, there wasn't anything to change. I really like it, you should finish the lyrics to it as well," he said with the smile still on his face. After letting the words sink in for a couple of seconds she slumped in her seat, her face displaying a dull expression once again as she moved her hands over the black and white keys, "Did I say something wrong? In my opinion, there is really nothing to change,"
"Nothing's wrong," she said in barely a whisper, "it's okay, I'll get going now." Standing up she grabbed her music sheets and started stuffing them into her bag. Yoongi got startled by her sudden actions and stood up as well, he then looked out the window and realised it was pitch black and the rain was still falling heavily.
"Have you got a coat? It's still raining. Do you want me to take you home?" Yoongi blurted the questions as his eyes travelled back to Yerin from the window. While putting her bag on her shoulders she looked up at him,
"There's no need for a coat, it's only rain. You can walk me home if you want, I think my brother would appreciate it, he would get mad if I were to walk home by myself in the dark. To be honest, he'll be mad either way so," she blurted while shrugging her shoulders. As she was walking towards the door, something was thrown over her head, when grabbing it she noticed that it was very soft and warm. She pulled it down from her head to realise that it was a hoodie, "I don't need this," Yerin said while attempting to give it back but he just pushed her hand back and shook his head,
"Just wear it," he said while walking over to the main doors before opening it as Yerin put on the hoodie,
Making their way down the dark, empty roads they were talking and laughing. The rain began to stop as the two began to get close to Yerin's house, Yoongi began to look around while still talking as he began to recognise the street that they were on,
"You live here?" He asked confused as his eyes wondered from a flower shop to the slightly smaller girl at his side,
"Yes," she said while nodding slightly while looking up at him, "I live up there," she said pointing to the top of a fairly new built apartment complex, it was the rooftop studio. His eyes widened as he pointed to the building opposite and up at the little apartment on the rooftop.
"I live up there," he said smiling and bringing his arm down to his side, "so you must be the new person living with their brother, my friend told me he saw someone moving boxes when he came over." She just smiled in return and took off the hoodie. She stuck her arm out that was holding the hoodie while saying a quiet thank you. As soon as Yoongi had hold of it she turned around and walked up the staircase to her home. He went up his own set of stairs before arriving on the top. She was standing on the opposite side, her hair now loose from the bun and going with the wind. Smiling and waving she spoke up,
"Thank you for today, goodnight," Yoongi responded with a small wave while making his way into his apartment. Yerin just stood there for a short while longer looking at the stars until a male voice called her inside.
