Waking up in Jack's arms as he slept peacefully, I carefully moved out of his reach and walked over to the window with my torso out. I crossed my arms comfortably. I let the breeze flow through my choppy short hair. 'Oh. Its dark out. I must've slept the day through.' I thought carelessly. Its been a while since I slept without constant need of being alert 24/7. Walking over to the door, I looked back at Jack. As he turned over, his face was as calm as he was two years before everything went hectic. I gave him a sympathetic glance. 'Oh. I remember...' I thought suddenly. 'Jack... I don't think I'll ever be able to answer your question.' I thought hopelessly, and opened the door to walk out. Closing it quietly behind me, I walked downstairs and walked past the three girls in the living room. They were huddled together, their eyes piercing with hatred as they glared at me. I glared back; the pressure was almost visible. I strutted my way to the kitchen without saying a word.

Opening the fridge, I found a grocery bag full of strangely fresh yellow apples. They were small, so it must've meant they were pre-picked. Taking out four, I went back into the living room and stood in front of the three girls. They continued to stare at me with murderous eyes. I snorted and passed the first apple to Emily. "Take it." I ordered bluntly. She glanced at the apple and back at me. "I'd rather die than take an offer from y--" "You haven't eaten since yesterday. So stop acting like a naive little bitch and take the fucking apple." I said, raising my voice. Turning her head away in shame, Emily grabbed the apple politely without another word to be said. Passing two more to Pam and Cassidy, I sat alone on the love seat and gnawed away on my share. There was a long awkward silence after we finished.

"Why didn't you come to comfort me when I almost died?" Emily asked arrogantly. My eye twitched in irritation. I took a deep sigh. "I saved your life, Emily. There will be far worst situations you'll encounter in the future. You have to understand that. I won't always be there to save the day." I replied calmly. "Don't talk to her like that... Why don't you have the care in the world? Why can't you just simply reassure someone? Huh?" Cassidy snapped. I sat up on the love seat; I was personally offended by the lack of respect I was given. "You want to act like a naive bitch, you can certainly be my guest. I'm risking my life every fucking day for you, and this is how you thank me. Thank you, my dear and wonderful friends, for acting like the little cunts you are." I snapped back. The three girls stared at me flabbergasted. "How... could you call us such horrible things?" Pam whispered. I growled in frustration. "How could you treat me like this? Personally, I think I have the right to. I just can't handle you guys... you're crying over a small risk. Yes, you almost died, but be fucking grateful. You're going to face much worse situations than that. Grow some fucking balls and move on." I yelled, and stormed outside through the front porch.

Shortly after I slammed the door, Jack walked downstairs in a groggy manner and grunted. "Hey... where did Sam go?" He asked, his voice rough. Cassidy snorted and avoided eye contact. "She's outside." She mumbled. Jack's eye's widened as if he was drenched in cold water. "In complete darkness?! Alone? How could you let her?" He asked, and ran out.

As I ran in the forest as fast as I could, I climbed up a tree and huddled into a tight ball on a sturdy branch. Thinking deeply about the situation I was in, I suddenly heard a rustle in the trees. I automatically pulled out my handgun in alert. In the distance, I saw a pair of haunting red dots. 'A vampire!' I thought as my heart began to pound. As the dots came closer, I could see they were wide with pure insanity. "You here for me? For food?" I snarled viciously. I pointed my gun at the figure. It only came closer, unaffected by the gun. "This gun is holding miniature steaks coated in holy water that can pierce right through your body like any other bullet I can shoot you with. You'll be dead in three shots if I fire." I said, my voice cold and steady. Instantly as fast as lightning, the creature lunged at me and bit into my shoulder. Yelping in pain, I shot the creature in the neck with my gun. It screeched in agony, and fell to the ground. It was a male. Falling to the ground as well, I clenched on to my throbbing shoulder. I cursed under my breath and struggled to sit up. "Fuck... I've been bit." I mumbled. Looking up, I confronted the red eyed man. "Who are you?" I asked, wheezing from the pain as the strong venom rushed through my veins. There was a moment of hesitation. The breathing of the vampire began to grow unsteady. "I'm...I'm sorry Sam... I couldn't control myself." A familiar voice said, shaking with regret. I gasped in terror. My eyes widened. The pigment in my skin was completely gone. I grew uncomfortable shivers through my spine. I covered my mouth with my shaky hand and shivered. "J-Jason...?" I stuttered. He revealed his face dramatically in the moon light, his expression blank. His red eyes glowed. "Y...you...?" I was trembling too much to finish my sentence. He shook his head.
