I woke up hours later to find myself in one of the bedrooms upstairs with a wet cloth on my forehead. Glancing out the window beside me, it was still night. I was surprised to notice the pain was completely gone. Looking up at my hand, I flexed it to make sure the joints weren't hurting at all. I took the cloth off my forehead, and sat up. Jack noticed me and rushed over to lay me back down. He said nothing, and his face was full of pain. Sniffing the air, I couldn't help but smell a strange seducing aroma. Like... flowers and herbs. I reassured Jack and looked away. "The pain's gone. I can get up." I said softly. He never replied. Continuing to smell the addicting aroma, I grew irritated with the unfamiliar smell. My eyes glowed blue brightly, and Jack quickly looked away. I looked up at him. "What's the matter?" I asked. Jack began to fidget where he sat. "Y-you don't remember?" He mumbled. It took a moment to jog my memory. With nausea hitting me like a boulder, I ran faster than light to the bathroom to vomit. Walking weakly back into the room, Jack stared at me in amazement. "It's... like you vanished." He awed, despite of his fear. Ignoring him, I continued to sniff the air. I began to grow angry. "What the hell is that smell..." I mumbled to myself. I only shook my head and stomped over to the window. Leaning forward, I glanced back at Jack.
"Why... didn't you kill me when I told you to? I didn't want this!" My voice cracked. I could feel the tears develop in my eyes. "Because! I don't care if you're like this! You... You're still Sam, right? You haven't changed. You're still you!" He yelled offensively. I clenched my head with both of my hands. "It happened so sudden! Out of nowhere... that bastard came out of nowhere, and turned me into a monster! All in a couple of hours?!" I bawled. I knew this conversation was getting us nowhere. But I couldn't fight the emotion that burdened me. Jack walked over and hugged me. "Please... don't cry..." He begged, his voice shaking. I hugged him back and cried in his arms. The floral herb aroma never smelt so strong. It was his scent. I could smell his scent. I sniffed and clenched to his clothes. "Why tonight...? Why ever? Why couldn't I never wake up again not knowing what Jason turned me into?" I whispered. All of a sudden I heard footsteps close to the wall by the door. In a flash, I ran out to see who it was. Gasping, Emily stood flat against the wall, staring at me in complete terror. My eyes instantly flashed a bright blue in fury. "You eavesdropped on us...!" I said in a haunting voice. Emily had no words to emit from her trembling mouth. I stepped forward, my eyes flashing brighter with mixed emotions. "Why...? Over one small incident you weren't fond of? Because I never came to comfort you? What are you going to do now that I became our worst enemy? Try to kill me?" I cried. Emily continued to stare at me with bulging eyes as she trembled backwards and fell, tears flowing down her cheeks. I suddenly stopped and looked down at my hands. "The odds are so fucking random that you don't know what's ever going to happen!" I said. Emily scrambled to her feet, and shakily approached me. "...I- I heard everything in that shed. I told Pam and Cassidy... they don't even consider you as a partner anymore... hahah... you turned into a monster. If anything as far as we're concerned, Jason is dead, and he wasn't the one who attacked you--" I cut Emily off by grabbing her throat and squeezed it tight. Gasping for air, I clenched harder, feeling the bones crushing as I raged uncontrollably. "Don't you dare tell me who attacked me and who didn't... I saw his face, he talked to me! I will not hesitate to kill you if you try to convince me otherwise!" I snarled viciously. Letting her go, Emily fell to the ground gulping for air. Looking at her in horror after realizing what I have done, I looked back at Jack and ran in the room. Locking the door, I escaped back into the forest once more.
Running wildly, I began to call out Jason's name. "Jason! JASON!!" I yelled helplessly. Looking down on the ground, I saw a pigmented trail of cloud in front of me in a linear path. I gasped. 'Is this scent...? Its red... it has to be Jason!' I thought, and ran faster following the visible scent. Climbing trees and jumping from limb to limp, I began to make out a figure approximately 2 meters away. The red trail began to trace its movements behind it, and surely I knew it was Jason. Speeding up more, I began to feel the rage building up in my system again. My eyes glows a fiery blue, and I managed to catch up to him in seconds.
