A/N : Welcome to the very beginning of In the Eye of the Cosmos - the revised version! If you're unsure why its revised check out the 'UPDATE' on the original story and that should explain it all really. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this new and improved version of ITEOTC (Damn, that's a long acronym) as I've put a lot of effort to ensure that you guys love it just as much as I do. Oh, and the side photo is what Luna would roughly look like (yup, it's Samantha Maria because she slays.) Without further ado, enjoy! - Alex 💞

My legs take me away, making me sprint faster than I have ever done before. I expect the gun in my hand to feel cold and lifeless, instead it hums excitedly with electricity in my trembling hands. Panic. It washes over me like a wave, coursing through my veins, in sync with the blood that bursts with adrenaline. The familiar screech of bullets explodes in my ears, flying like birds in the sky. I'm hit. A bullet smashes into my right leg. Pain sears through my bones like wildfire, tearing me apart bit by bit. I yell, agonised. My pace quickens. I hastily look behind my shoulder, stained with crimson blood, not my blood - someone else's. I'm running from someone - something, more like. I'm running for my dear life. My head pounds furiously in the same rhythm as my heart, tired and ready to give up but my legs seem to have a mind of their own.

Not for long though.

Suddenly, I feel like I'm falling 100 metres into thin air. I hit the ground with a heavy thump, a sharp rock cuts my left cheek - a small one but it still stings. With as much will power as I can muster, I roll onto my backside, ridden with scars and scratches. The thing chasing me has caught up. No, no, no, no, no, this can't be happening. I scramble desperately, still trying to hold on to the little chance I have left at life. Burning salty tears sting the fresh new cut on my cheek, blood staining the ground. COME ON! COME ON! My brain screams towards my legs, pleading for them to work. They don't obey. The figure approaches, growing closer and closer by the second. My gun lies centimetres ahead of me but it's too far out of reach. I scream a name I don't recognise. I get no answer. That's it, I'm truly helpless.

As it approaches, I see a sight that makes my skin crawl, not with disgust but with another emotion, anger. I close my eyes. This is it, this is truly it, this is the end. I can hear its heavy footsteps shake the ground beside me, I can almost feel the venom pouring out of him. I open my eyes to find two pitch black irises that I loathe so profoundly staring back into mine. The creature smiles a menacing smile and says: "Boo".

Then, in an instant, my whole world turns black.
