Izzy’s POV:

“You should...have…Seen…you’re…face” he said in between his laughter.

“Haha, very funny” I said in a sarcastic tone, rolling my eyes. I bent down to pick up the papers, which were scattered all over the floor. Suddenly while I was taking my sweet time to pick the papers, the door flew open and hit my nose. Wow! I hit my face twice in a row. I turned to look up at Liam who was holding in his laughter. That was strange. He usually had the loudest laugh in class. Then I saw them. Miss Paige came in class, Amanda right behind her.

“Listen students.” she said sternly,

“Today I am preparing a play with the grade 7’s in the gym hall. If I hear anything, you’ll get double detention. There will strictly be no talking, giggling, chit-chatting, or flirting” she said strictly. Flirting? This old woman was insane.

“Your math assignment is due in 2 hours, and if three of you don’t finish on time, I’m afraid you’ll get yourself another detention” she said, banging the door. She didn’t even apologise for banging the door on my face! My poor nose hurt really badly, and even worse, I was stuck in class with Amanda.

‘Q.20) factorise the square of …….’  My inner voice read before Amanda giggled flirtatiously next to Liam at the other side of the classroom. It’s been like this for the last 30 minutes and her attention-seeking giggles were getting on my nerves. Luckily, I didn’t have a problem with maths so I went ahead to solve the problem. I sighed as I finished the last question on the page. Three papers down, two to go. I glanced at Liam and Amanda, who weren’t doing their assignment. I grinned as I started the fourth paper. They were too stupid to realize that there was only 45 minutes remaining.

“It’s rude to stare” Amanda snapped. I didn’t realize that I was still looking at them. I felt stupid right now and I had to come up with something quick.

Think Izzy’ my inner voice snapped.

What shall I say, I’ll look so stupid’ I argued.

‘If you don’t talk, it would make you look stupid, you fool’ my inner voice retorted.

“Aww, Look who’s over there all alone. Missed me darling,” Liam cooed.

“Stop calling me that, you donkey,” I retorted.

“And for your information Amanda, I was trying to figure out what that thing on your nose is,” I said with a smirk. Liam chuckled.

“I think you need glasses freak.” she spat and reached for her bag, pulling out her small heart-shaped mirror. She grabbed her red lipstick and applied a fresh coat on her full lips. Abruptly, her eyes widened in shock.

“O.M.G. I have huge zit on my nose,” She said on the verge of tears. My grin widened but I instantly felt a pang of guilt. I knew how much her flawless face meant to her and if she didn’t get rid of it, she’d be the talk of the week and I knew how it felt.

“Liam, what should I do” she complained. Liam looked confused.

“I don’t know,” he said awkwardly. Amanda quickly took out her Iphone 5 and dialed in a number.

“Jack, Where are you?” she asked.

She paused, listening to the person on the other side of the phone.

“Well, come to school immediately. I have an appointment with Melissa” she demanded.

“Ok then, see you in 5 minutes,” she said before she ended the call. Speaking of going home, I needed a ride. Almost everyone in this school had their own car. The school bus left me and it was almost seven p.m. I guess I had to walk home. My phone buzzed, indicating that I received a message. I took it out of my pocket and read it.
