Blair
The following Monday
Everyone dashed out of class as soon as the session was over. With everyone crowded the door, it's always a huge possibility that most of the people would squish themselves through the door as the bell rung and the hallway has been holding a stampede of people. As I make my way through ground floor cafeteria, my phone beeped a notification. When I checked what it was, it was from Vanessa.
From: Vanessa
You have got to check this out. Something's going on down here!
Shocked, I thought of something that a shoot of some famous celebrity is there or someone has literally shot a fire. I gave her a quick reply to save my assumptions.
To: Vanessa
What is it this time? Don't drag me when you're tricking me into helping you with homework.
Believe it or not, I wasn't much of a genius to shoot down the answers. And I got a reply from her and got a conversation that exasperated my suspicions.
Vanessa: No I'm serious. You have to come down and everyone will be watching you from 2nd floor as you head for the staircase.
Me: What? I'm a debutant now? You know I can't celebrate my debut here in school!
Vanessa: Genius! What are you talking about?? You have to come down for yourself.
Me: Fine. It better be good or I swear I'll....
Vanessa: ....thank me for later? Sure :) See ya!
Soon enough, she was right: Everyone is looking and smiling at me at the same time. I don't know why, but the last time I experienced this was when I was in high school. And they were laughing at me.
Now they weren't.
They're just smiling and staring at me. And handing me a flower from each person.
Now this....gets stranger, I thought as I reluctantly got the first few flowers while bearing the weight of my black Herschel backpack.
Between going down the steps and getting flowers from random people, I have an odd feeling of questioning myself whether this is a dream or not and who on earth would do this to me when I'm just your average girl who's both a History nerd and a beauty guru at the same time with nothing to know the reason someone to love me with all of my insecurities. Sure, I'm quite of popular, but it doesn't mean everyone loves me and I'm sure someone, whoever that is, is insane enough to be in love with me.
Well, too crazy clash with my soul.
As I looked down at my white crop top which has a picture of pizza in a shape of a heart that I bought in Topshop, black plain overall shorts that I bought from Bench a year ago, and my black Converse high tops, I thought of nothing that made someone impressed with my outfit. As I looked up at my white beanie on my curly black hair, I realized that I looked beautiful in a minimalistic way.
Contradicting, I know.
As I reached down the courtyard with many trees and a wide vast of nothing but grass, picnic sessions, and more people looking at me, I came into a conclusion that the group of people might be Peter's squad because it's kinda obvious that a group of guys and girls are holding more flowers while two of them hold a white banner on both sides.
But what blew me away was that his squad gave way for Peter to enter with a guitar on his hands.
"I know I'm not good at this whole serenade thing, but this is for you," he said as he begun strumming his guitar.
He chose to sing Little Things by One Direction.
His voice isn't the most beautiful thing I've ever heard, but the cutest because of his voice cracks and soothing tone.
When he finished the song, I felt myself blushing. Of course I've felt this when a guy would tell me he liked me or when he's handsome but I bet this would be the first time a guy serenaded for me. He kneeled and took my hand.
"Blair Lily Lee Chanster, I know I'm moving too fast, but I think I like you. No, not like. I'm completely collided and have fallen in love with you. I know it isn't the best time, but my feelings couldn't control themselves much longer. I love every inch of you and that could could extend beyond our breadth. I know I said too much so let's cut to the chase. Please be my girlfriend, my water flower?"
At this point, people are chanting that I should answer him.
Appreciated and bewildered at the same time, I finally said, "As long as you can take me in your life, it's an adventure that I wouldn't miss."
Peter got up and hugged me then got the flowers from his squad, bundled them into a bouquet, and gave them to me as the crowd gave a roar of cheers and a sea of chants.
Ten roses.
I looked at them and thought that maybe we're meant to be after a couple of texts and FB messages. Maybe we're finally meant to collide a call. But one thing for sure is that we're meant to invade into each other's souls instead of just letting them slide over and through.
A girl who's got passion for photography and a guy who's a future engineer, what could go wrong with a little discovery of ourselves and a whole lot of love to go through in our relationship?
