Chapter 5

Mari's POV

When I left Hiei,I was still in the locker rooms, but in like,the hallway part of it.Then Sheila's voice interrupted my thoughts."Mari if you're in the locker rooms still,get out here.It's time for your fight again."She sounded annoyed for a moment.Then in a second,Hiei was carrying me back to the group."Do you want to waste your energy walking?"He asked kicking the door open,it slamming against the wall loudly."I can teleport."I stated as I crossed my arms."Then do it."Hiei looked down at me,loosening his grip."Hey!Don't drop me!"I wrapped my arms around him and grabbed at the back of his shirt,trying my hardest to teleport."Thought so."He said as he tightened his grip again and sped the rest of the way to the ring,allowing me to get down.

Hiei's POV

'Is it wrong to think the fact that she can't teleport is funny?'I asked myself as Keisha looked down at me in curiosity."What?"I asked looking up at her."Ah it's nothing.Just wondering why you carried her."Keisha said crouching down."Unless you wanted to watch her legs go limp halfway in,then I had to carry her."I shrugged,as Kurama leaned down."Or perhaps is it another reason?"He asked laughing a little."KURAMA.Don't make me pull your precious voice box out."I growled,looking at him.They laughed a little and went back to watching,then Mari's yelp of surprise rang through the stadium.

Mari's POV

'Bloody hell...This dome thing that he trapped me in,is slowly draining my spirit energy and my breath.'I thought as I looked around the transparent dome to see my team looking at me in horror."U-Um...I'll be f-fine!"I tried to reassure them as I focus all of my energy into teleporting out of the dome."S-See?"I collapsed as I tried to regain my breath,as he stalked closer."It's no use getting out of the dome,my victory is confirmed."Koij said raising his foot to crush me."Goddamnit Mari!"Hiei growled and drove his sword into Koij's foot,and picked me up,throwing me over his shoulder."Wow!I-Is this going against the rules?!"Sheila exclaimed into the mic."Don't...Think so..."I panted as I positioned my hair to where it was over his shoulders."You lousy referee!A stand-in shouldn't be allowed!"Koij said hopping as he pressed a hand to the wound."Too bad."Hiei growled,and sheathed his sword.Then everything went black.

Hiei's POV

Mari became dead weight as the bandages she wrapped around my eye came loose."Fist Of The Mortal Flame!"The jagan eye lit up purple,and I charged at  him,careful not to drop Mari."If you even dare to touch her again,assuming you survive this...I'll snap you in half!"I snapped,letting my whole arm go up in black flames,soon forming a sword of Darkness Flame.Koij was paralyzed as my sword cut through him nineteen times total.I slid back from him as he fell into a pile,and carried Mari back to the locker rooms.

~Mini Time Skip~

Mari slowly opened her eyes,immediately seeing my cloak."H...Hiei?"She mumbled as she looked up at me."Of course.You save me,I save you.Simple as that."I replied."Thanks...What happened to Koij?"She asked sitting up,rubbing her eyes like a child."He's dead...Why does it matter?"I asked raising an eyebrow."Just making sure he got what he deserved......Hiei do you..Love me?"Mari blinked a couple times as she pulled my cloak further over her shoulders."Why?It's not like you'll love me back."I sighed as I sat up.She laughed."What makes you so sure?"She asked,pulling the rose from under her hair."Are you blind woman?We're too different..."I sighed again."Actually,we're more alike then you think Hiei."Mari said raising an eyebrow.I looked at her in confusion,and she began explaining."We're both sensitive about our height,we both hate KuwaBaka,our own team annoys us,we both have a bad attitude when someone annoys us..."She said twirling the rose in her hands."Guess we are the same..."I said looking at her.Then she grabbed my collar again,and smashed her lips against mine.

Kurama's POV

'Those two have been away for awhile.By my calculations,Hiei should've carried Mari out of the locker rooms thirty minutes ago...'I thought looking back at the rooms."I'll be back."I disappeared into the locker rooms and heard dead silence."Hmm.."I opened the door down the last hall,and had to cover my mouth to keep from laughing.Then I lost it."Con...Congratulations!"I leaned on the wall and slowly sunk down,laughing."There is a thing called knocking Suichi!!!"Mari said,after she had pulled away from Hiei."Or at least opening the door slower!You just flung it open!"Hiei agreed.And the next time I opened my eyes,they were in front of me,both of their weapons wielded.Hiei's katana,and Mari's mallet."I should start running shouldn't I?"I asked leaning to the side."Would be wise."Mari swung her mallet,nearly crushing me.

"I-I'm sorry!"
