I furiously checked my laptop for updates. I was tired of listening to people talk, whether they were living or dead. I didn't need my parents yelling at me or having to deal with ghosts. I wanted a normal life where all I had to worry about was homework.
My two friends, Hana and Abigail walked over.
"Hi Oriana!" Hana chirped cheerfully.
Abigail smiled as she said, "Hey, Oriana." They spread out their papers and laptops on the table as I checked my notifications.
"I noticed you're looking a bit tense. Parent problems again?" Abigail questioned me as she scribbled on her notebook.
"Ugh, yeah." I sighed as I checked YouTube and slammed the play button on my playlist as I popped my earbuds in. "Parents screaming at me, not wanting me to be angry. How do I not be angry. They call it attitude, but nooooo. I've frickin told them it's anger, not 'attitude'." I sighed as I thought of Lani. I knew that she wanted someone to talk to, but at this moment in time, I didn't need to be pestered by her too.
"Well, maybe you should get better control over your rage..." Hana pursed her lips. "My imagination is totally horrible when it comes to hallucinations, but I'm obviously a cheerful girl and stuff."
"Pshh. You're the only one whose 'teen hormones' haven't done much to you." Abigail elbowed Hana as she smirked. "Well, my parents yell at me a whole bunch too, but I just pretend a whole lot and stop my anger." She shrugged. "I'm just naturally more levelheaded, I guess." She turned back to her laptop as she hummed.
I sighed. Abigail was the only one who understood anything. But of course she was Hana's best friend and not mine. And even if we were best friends we still had obvious differences. She was a cool kid. Anyone would kill to hang out with her in my class. She hung out with sophomores and juniors. Probably seniors too.
"Well, sorry guys! I have to go. I don't want the idiot 'cool kids' mucking up our table. Don't want them making fun of you guys, they love to do that to others." She packed her laptop and homework and shoved them into her bag as she briskly walked over to the small group of freshmen and sophomores. It was near impossible to talk to older teens in high school- some viewed you as bugs and refused to associate with you. Others ignored you. Few were nice and talked to you.
I checked my laptop for the time. 8:53. "Hana, get ready to go." I packed my laptop in its protective case as I unzipped my backpack. I slung the backpack over my shoulder as the bell rang.
Sorry guys!! I've been busy and didn't have the time to write or update. Luckily, tomorrow is Halloween, and it's time for the special chapter! ~Agrina
