Ghost Story

Chapter 7- Oriana

When Lani disappeared, I exhaled. Whew. I felt cramped when she was around me, possibly because it was odd to be hanging out with a dead person... even if she was my sister. I just found her kind of weird. I mean, most ghosts I've seen have something to hang onto. And I guess I was the thing she was holding onto. I probably should ask her how she died, although not when I'm a ghost. If she hit me when I was a ghost then it would hurt, heh. I found that every time I talk to ghosts they were either talking about their death nonstop or moping. Or being really angry. I took out my phone and plugged in my earbuds. Discord played in the background. I closed my eyes as I saw the figure of a teenage girl writing furiously. Two ghosts floated above her head. I smiled as I opened my eyes and breathed in the sharp, cold air.

The bus rolled to our stop as I sighed and frowned. "Something terrible really is going on." I quoted Discord as I scanned the windows. A chill rolled down my back as I saw what no one else could see. Ghosts were packed inside and were floating around, drifting out of students as they roughhoused and played on their phones. I winced as I radiated a supernatural aura. It always left me with a headache afterward. The ghosts scattered immediately. They gasped as I sat near the back with them.

"No ghost is powerful enough to possess a body. Not one who lives here... " one whispered as I pinched them. They shrieked as I let them go and faded my eyes back to their normal green. All of the ghosts flew out as I shook my head, releasing the rest of the aura. I don't like ghosts flocking to me or running away from me too often. I'll only do it if necessary. My eyes turned icy blue as I struggled with my ghost instincts, to run away and to get stronger. I honestly fighted my instincts because I wanted to be normal. Although that would NEVER happen. I looked at my phone as the bus pulled into the school. I ran off as quickly as possible.
