Kady Hern sat quietly on her bed waiting for her friends, Brenden and Masy, to bring her breakfast. She would go get some herself but she had a falling out with the Headmistress and Lady Grenle swore that if she saw Kady's face again she'd stick her in Punishment Cove, a place no one wanted to go.
Kady cleared her mind. She didn't want to ever think of Punishment Cove.
It was an awful place. It was in the basement of the orphanage and had all these long spikes hanging out of the walls of either side. At the very far end from the door was an electric chair witch if you ever wanted to get out you had to endure the pain of it for five minutes.
Kady tried to clear her mind again by pulling out a brush and combing her long, red hair out for the fifteenth time today.
"Hola Kady!"
Kady jumped as she heard a voice coming through the doorway. She turned around and smiled. "Hola Brenden!" She answered.
Brenden was from Puerto Rico so he had a thick Spanish accent. He also had dark skin and dark brown hair. Kady couldn't help but smile when she saw him because he just had this aroma around him that suggested that he was a good person.
"Hey Kad!" Kady's other friend, Masy, said standing in the doorway.
Masy was probably the most beautiful girl Kady had ever seen. She had long brown hair that was streaked with blonde. Her ice blue eyes matched perfectly with her pale complexion. She had that "popular girl" aroma around her but she was really nice.
Kady glanced at Masy's hands and saw a jelly donut. "You know me so well Mas!" Kady exclaimed happily as she grabbed the donut from Masy's hands.
Masy smiled. "I know!"
Brenden rolled his eyes at Masy and pointed out that he was the one who picked out the jelly donut. "Mas was to busy fixing her maquillaje." He informed her.
Masy stuck out her tongue at him but did not deny it.
It didn't surprise Kady though. Masy was always fixing her makeup.
"Thank Y'all!" Kady mumbled through bites of jelly donut.
Brenden grinned. "No hay problema!" He remarked. He ran his hand through his dark brown hair. "I have to go." He stammered. And quickly walked out the door.
Kady and Masy look at each other suspiciously. What was going on with him? Masy shrugged it off and went to the bathroom to fix her hair. Kady, however, was worried.
Brenden had been her best friend since she was six and she'd never seen him this nervous. Was he hiding something from her?
She decided to follow him. She quickly ran to find him. She saw him just in time because the second she saw him he went into a room.
Confused, Kady went around the other way and headed towards the window. She kept low so the occupants in the room would not see her peeking through the window.
Kady stole a quick glance and could not believe her eyes.
Inside the room Brenden and this blonde chick were in the middle of a heated make out session. Brendan's hands were up the girls shirt and her legs wrapped around his waist. They were practically sucking each other's faces off.
Kady stood there motionless. She wanted to run and hide, to cry, to punch that stupid blonde girl hard in the face.
She took once last look in the window to make sure she was not just having Deja Vu. Nope they were still locking-lips.
Kady ran. She couldn't take it anymore. She ran to the bathroom completely forgetting about her feud with the headmistress. Kady locked herself in the bathroom.
She looked herself over in the mirror. What was wrong with her? She quickly ran her hands through her hair. She should feel happy for her friend. But instead she felt mad. Not at him but at the blonde.
Kady slapped her forehead hard. What was happening to her?
The annoying voice in the back of Kady's head remarked, maybe you love him? Kady shook her head. No, that was not it. Or was it?
"Kady." A voice from the doorway sneered. Kady's heart started to race even more than it already was. She turned around to find the Headmistress standing in the doorway showing that fake, cruel smile she always wore.
The Headmistress stalked towards Kady. "Remember what I said would happen if I ever saw you face again?" She inquired her voice lacing with hatred.
"I-I-" Kady stammered fidgeting with her fingers as she tends to do when she gets nervous. Lady Grenle peered at her through her ice cold blue eyes.
"Tomorrow morning you will start your punishment." She dictated. Kady quickly nodded and ran back to her room.
Masy was sitting on Kady's bed waiting for her when she got back. "There you are!" She rejoiced letting out a breath of relief. "I was starting to think Lady Grenle had found you!" She laughed.
Kady looked at her. "She did." She quaked.
Masy gasped. "What did she say?" She inquired.
"My punishment started tomorrow morning." Kady gulped.
At that moment Brenden walks in with a gigantic grin on his face. "What's up Brenden?" Masy asks him.
Brenden's ecstatic smile is replaced by a nervous one. "Oh-umm nada!" He stuttered.
Kady was fuming inside. How could he not tell them about his girlfriend? She thought they were friends!
Masy shrugged it off. Again! "So Brenden, did you hear Lady Grenle saw Kady?"
Brenden's eyes grew wide. "She did?" He asked. Kady nodded. "My punishment starts tomorrow morning." She muttered.
"We have to get Kady out of this." Masy reported. Brenden nodded. "Agreed."
Kady looked at her friends. There was no possible way to have anyone better. "Okay how?" She inquired.
Masy looked at the two of them with a determined look on her face. "This is what we'll do..."
