Dan's POV

"Stop! You on the bench, stop what you're doing!" I froze, turning to where the voice was coming from and saw a boy, older than me, with jet black hair, black skinny jeans and a lion t shirt running towards me. When he reached me he sat down on the bench beside me. I stared at him confused. Although he stared back, I mean I must look insane right now, shaking and crying, blood dripping from my face, holding a blade to my wrist.

"Are you okay?" His voice was soft and gentle. I said nothing but shake my head.

"My name is Phil, what's yours?"

"D-Dan." I replied.

"Well Dan , would it be okay if I take you back to my flat and clean you up, make sure you're okay?" I thought for a moment before nodding. What harm could he do? He helped me up off the bench and guided me to his apartment a few streets down from the park. In his flat he cleaned all of the blood off of me, gave me pain tablets, a comfy spot on his sofa and a hot chocolate.

"How old are you Dan?" he asked again, joining me on the sofa with a hot chocolate of his own.

"Si-Sixteen."

"Do you need to call someone to let them know you're okay? Like your mum or your dad?"

"No, they are both at work." I replied, "But I need to pick up my brother from school around 4:00."

"Alright, I can drive you if you want." he told me smiling, I nodded in return. We sat there in his living room for a few hours, talking. He told me about himself, he is twenty years old and has an older brother, Martyn, who is one and a half years older. He's been making youtube videos for around a year now. I told him about Adrian, and my mum and dad, and PJ and Chris. We also talked about really random things, like our favorite colors. Mine being black and his blue. Our birthdays, mine June 27 and his January 30. It was one of the best afternoons I've had in awhile. Time flew by fast, hours felt like minutes and it was already time to pick up my brother. Still being hard for me to walk and basically move in general, Phil helped me to his car. I directed him to Adrian's school and he offered to go in and get him so I didn't have to get up and be in pain. How was I so lucky to meet this angel?

"Dan..." Adrian spoke as he got into the back seat of the car, seeing my injuries, "are you okay? Are you going to be okay?" I could hear the worried tone in his voice.

"I'm going to be just fine, don't you worry." i replied, reassuring him. Phil drove us to our house, taking only a few minutes, as it's walking distance.

"I'll help you inside," Phil told me, stepping out of the car. My parent's weren't home from work yet so Adrian went to play video games while Phil took me to my room.

"Thank you for everything today, Phil." I told him as I sat down on my bed.

"Of course," he replied smiling, "do you want me to wait in the hallway while you change out of your school uniform?" I nodded and he exiting the room. I changed into some dark grey sweatpants but couldn't change my shirt. It hurt my ribs and my stomach and my arms to much.

"Phil?"

"Yes Dan?" he answered from behind the door.

"C-can you help me?"

"Of course I can," he replied, entering my room once again and closing the door behind him. I sat on my bed, ashamed, "I can't change my shirt by myself." I stated.

"Okay, so where's the one you are going to change into?" I silently pointed to my wardrobe. He followed the direction of my finger and scanned the variety on black shirts I had, "What about this one?" he was holding up my eclipse shirt. I nodded. Phil took the shirt off of its hanger and approached me, starting to unbutton my dirty, blood covered, white polo. He slowly took one arm out at a time, then pulled it over my head. I didn't look at him, only staring at my carpet, studying it. I was ashamed of my body. The way my ribs protruded from my chest, my stomach flat. But not flat enough. My forearms and hips covered in scars, bruises already forming from earlier that day. He didn't say anything, just helped put my shirt on again. I winced as his fingers brushed one of my new bruises on my collar bone. When he was done I layed down on my bed, and Phil covered me with the blankets.

"Do you need anything?"

"Water would be nice, thank you." He left my room once again. Leaving me alone in the silence. He soon returned with a glass of water and handed it to me, "Your mum's home now." I nodded taking a sip and setting it aside as my phone vibrated.

PJ: Hey Dan! Do you want to play the video game with us?

Dan: Yeah sure, can we do it at mine?

PJ: Of course, Chris and I will be over in a few minutes.

"PJ and Chris are coming over to play video games. You can stay and play with us if you'd like." He smiled at me, "I'd love to." And with that we went back downstairs to the kitchen where my mum was.

"Oh, Dan... are you okay?" Her eyes filled with worry.

"Yes, mum." I assured her, "this is Phil by the way."

"Yes, I spoke to him a few minutes ago when he got you a water."

"Oh, and PJ and Chris are coming over to play video games."

"Okay, but they can't stay too late. You still have school tomorrow."

"Alright mum," I then led Phil to the living room to wait for PJ and Chris.
