Alison’s Pov:

I can’t believe it... I smiled to myself. After all this time, after all that time being broken and thinking I was alone, now I have someone who would be there for me. I got up and started to walk to Aaron’s room, I do need to apologize to the little guy. I smiled all down the hallways.

I’m really excited to be hanging out with Jason, he seems so different from any other guy I’ve known. There’s something about him that just draws me to him. Something that makes me want to know him better.

“ He’s trouble Alison,” a female voice said. I gritted my teeth, “ I thought I was done with you,” I thought to myself. The voice somewhat laughed and said, “ I’ll always be watching you dear.” I started to run to Aaron’s room, It should be just around the corner; I looked around and saw that I had entered the children’s ward already.

I hadn’t heard that voice since I was a little girl. I thought it had stopped... When I got to Aaron’s room, I paused for a moment. I can’t tell anyone about the voice coming back, they’ll put me back into therapy again. I opened the door and saw Aaron laying in his bed with his arms crossed. He shot me a pouty look.

“Thanks Alison,” He said bitterly, “now I don’t have my Disney Channel!” I looked at him in his bed and it broke my heart. This little boy is much too young to be suffering something so serious and painful.

“Alison!” He shouted, snapping me back to reality, “I hope you’re happy that I have educational Tv.” I simply smiled and sat at the edge of his bed, “I’m sorry Aaron,” I said sympathetically, “ but you cannot spill all my secrets to my friends!” I grinned at him slyly, “How about I go look through Dad’s movies and find your favorite? We can watch it together!”

He grinned to his ears and shouted, “Yay!! We get to watch Tarzan!” He was practically bouncing in his bed with joy, I loved to see him so happy. I got up to go and get the movie when he tugged on my sleeve. “Alison,” he said with a voice as quiet a a mouse, “ I am sorry about what I said to your friend. I didn’t mean to cause a mess with you two. Can you forgive me?” I smiled at him and put my hand on the soft tuft of hair he had left. “I always will Little bear,” I said with a smile, “ I always will.” He smiled and I went off to get the movie from my dad’s office.

My dad usually only lets the good kids in the children ward watch movies, but I always snag Tarzan from the cabinet when Aaron’s feeling down. I smiled, I had to have watched that movie about twenty-five times since Aaron has gotten here. Aaron has been with us for a long while and my dad says that he’ll probably be with us for a long while.

When I met Aaron, he was a much sadder kid. My dad diagnosed him with a type of cancer. If you wanted to know what type, I don’t look to Aaron and think of his cancer. I look at him and see the heart and soul of a survivor. I always come and cheer him up. A majority of the movies in my dad’s office are ones that I bought for Aaron and some of the other kid’s in the ward. I want to make them feel as comfortable and happy as possible while they’re here.

When I got to the office, I opened the cabinet and grabbed the movie Tarzan. I heard the door open and I turned quickly, “Hey dad,” I said smiling in relief. Most of the other nurses don’t approve of my trying to give these kids their glimmer of hope. “Hi honey,” he said to me, “so watching with Aaron again?” I smiled and nodded. He laughed a bit, “ If I didn’t know better, some people probably start to think he’s related to you.” I smiled, “ I wouldn’t mind being related to him, he’s a sweet kid.”
