Chapter 3: Grandma Martha

Driving down Hillwood Road the
only thing I can think about is Marcus and what he said to me after Chemistry class.

But letting all that go. I'm going to surprise my grandma. We really didn't know she moved her to here. She told us she was moving to Jersey. Whenever we called her she never told us about being here.

We finally arrived at her house. It was a house in the middle of the woods literally. Getting out of the car I felt nervous. I haven't seen Nana since the new of dads death dropped. I was scared of how she would react to us being here.

Walking closer to the house the music and people's laughter became louder and louder. And my heart started to beat faster. I mean this would be our first time see her in months literally.

Mom knocked on the door and we
waited a couple of seconds before someone opened the door. That someone was Lucas. He looked amazing he had on an Adidas jacket and the all-star shoes on, with black pants and a black shirt.

"Hello...hey River." He said with a huge smile on his face. I returned the smile.

"Hey. How are you?"

"I'm good...w- what are you doing here?"

"We are here to surprise someone very special young man. And who may you be?" My mom asked stepping in front of me making her presence known.

"Oh, I'm Lucas Davidson." He said putting out his hand for mom to shake. She did just that.

"Is your father, Steven Davidson?"
Mom asked him. Maybe she knew his dad.

"Yeah. Why? You know him?"

"He was my brothers best friend back in High School. They did everything together until we moved to Nashville when Jason was a senior." Mom finish and looked over to Silver and I. She told us that she lived here in Alaska, when she was younger. Then they just up and left.

"May we come in?" Ryan asked Lucas who was watching me with a smile on his. Which made me blush, like a lot.

"Sure, come in." He said stepping aside so we could walk in. "Who us this person that you are surprising?"

"Our grandma Martha." I told Lucas.

"Elderly Martha is your grandmother?" He asked so confused and surprised.

"Yes." Mom rushed out.

"Elderly? What does that mean?" Silver asked tilting her head over so she could see Lucas clearly

"That she's old." Mom replied for Lucas again.

"Not you mom I was talking to River's boyfriend." Silver snapped towards mom.

"He's not my boyfriend." I stated boldly.

"Yeah what ever. So what does elderly mean?"

"Old." A man said walking into the living room where we were. He was tall and had black hair with brown eyes. He looked a lot like Lucas.

"Steven!" My mom yelled as she ran into his arms.

"Melissa, How are you?" Hr asked still hugging her. "Its been so long."

"It has. And I've been doing well considering..." Mom was now standing by Silver with a forced smile on her face.

"Yeah I heard about that and sorry. I didn't know him personally but I know some people that knew him. And they all say that he was an amazing friend and father."

"He was.....oh! These are my daughters..."

"Melissa Murray?!" A lady yelled and ran into moms arms.

"Mary!!!"

"Oh my goddesses! What are you doing here...wait don't tell me you moved back?!"

"I did." Mom looked like she was about to cry.

"17 years."

"Yeah that's along time." Lucas's dad said smiling.

"I want you guys to meet my daughters Silver and River-Rose. And my god daughter Ryan. This is Quinn's daughter."

"Quinn had a daughter?"

"Yeah.."

"With Carson?"

"No with Cameron Duke." Ryan spoke up.

"You have your mothers eyes, felt with hope and love just like her....come lets go join the party outside the back yard." Mary pronounced as we followed her outside, I felt nervous I haven't seen nanna in almost two years. What if she doesn't remember us? What if she hates me...us?

Suddenly I started to feel like I was gonna vomit. I looked at Ryan and she made a face BT the way she was looking at me she knew that something was wrong. She grabbed my hand and said its gonna be okay over a million times before we finally got to where Nanna was sitting. She was at a table with Elizabeth and two other women.
