3rd person POV

"I don't wanna! Why do I have to be the next person to hold the supposed 'prophecy' that will bring the famed 8 who will save us from doom?! Why can't it be someone else?!" A little boy, the age of eleven, argued with his dad when his dad mentioned the famous prophecy.

He continued, anger boiling in him," And besides, how do we even know it's true?! We have waited for years," he did some math in his head," We have waited a total of 204 years for this prophecy to come true and yet it hasn't! So prove to me, how is this prophecy true?! Or is it fake?! Tell me! All my life I have lived in your shadow, as the others told me to, as I was a firstborn in my generation and it was my duty from the age of 12 to be the official prophecy holder! Do you know how it was like to detest every task given to you to train you to be the prophecy holder because you were going to be the next prophecy holder and to live in the shadow of someone?! Do you know how it's like to have all your joys ripped away from you?! Do you?!" He shouted at his father as tears of anger formed in his eyes and started to make its way down his face.

"Yes, I do..." His father said softly as the memories in the back of his brain rose before his eyes as images yet once. Him learning the prophecy by heart, him following in his own father's footsteps unwillingly, his own father saying to him proudly that this position was a huge honor, he should cherish it while he himself thought that was just plain rubbish, like how his son thought the same way and many more. Before long, tears started to form in his eyes and make his vision blurry as the tears threatened to spill. He smiled sadly as he looked at his child who was crying tears of anger and frustration as he slowly lifted his head.

The son looked up into his father's sad chocolate brown eyes filled to the brim with tears once his father had finished his sentence. He couldn't believe it. All his life, he had thought that his father was like all the other prophecy holders, excited to take over, loved the job, and most of all, like all the others, wanted to be the one that was chosen to save the world from doom using his bloodline's magic, sorcery to be more exact, have his fame and word of his heroic actions spread far and wide. Yet, that wasn't the case. He now doubted that everyone had actually wanted to have the job since his father wore the same face as them, and looked almost exactly the same. His acting was so good, that one would not have doubted he was unwilling to do the job and he was forced.

The 'plip, plop' of tears could be heard as both father and son cried, albeit the father crying silently and the son crying a little loudly.

???'s POV

I was scanning the forest area around the tree I was crouched on. It was one of the tallest trees on the island that only me and my sworn sister, Mizuka, inhabited aside from the plants and animals, that is.
I suddenly spotted and crow, and pulled out my bow that Mizuka had so kindly helped me to enchant it with Flame I, Power V, Infinity and Mending. I took aim at the cow who was innocently munching on some grass and was going to shoot it when suddenly I heard a portal open behind me. I jumped and immediately turned around, crouching in my defense position awaiting its response. It's response was, well, spitting out a human guy who looked like he was 16 years old, same age as me and closing itself yet once again. He was wearing a hoodie that was black in colour with a creeper face on the back in a lava colour and with the hood pulled down. Thanks to that, I saw the colour of his eyes and hair. His hair was a nice dark brown with the tips of his hair looking like a orange-reddish colour, like lava coloured hair tips. His eyes were as brown with orange-reddish flecks in it.

He sat up properly and rubbed his head, muttering a 'ow...darn you portal' while nursing the bump on his head. He looked up and saw me crouched there and suddenly he poofed and turned into a wolf with reddish-orange fur. I was stunned that he was a wolf hybrid, but not for long. You see, I am a wolf hybrid as well as a endermen hybrid. I turned into a wolf too, except for the fact that my colour was a purplish silver.

After we had both turned to normal, I held out my hand and said, " My name is Amethyst, what's yours?" He shyly took my hand and shook it, but not sure of his action, most likely not used to having human contact. He said, " My name is Preston... And as you can see, well, a portal just spit me into this tree about 5 minutes ago." I giggled, not being able to hold in my laughter due to the face he was making and the sentence that went with it. It soon erupted into a fit of laughter and soon we were both laughing. I then remembered that I should have started to head to the home that Mizuka and I shared, so, off I went, with Preston, as he had no where to stay and I didn't sense any evil intent from him.

After reaching the home that Mizuka and I stayed in, I grabbed his hand and teleported into the brewing lab that Mizuka was currently in. I let go of Preston's hand as I told him to stay there as I searched for Mizuka in this maze of a place. Sure it was organised, but it was a literal maze! It was a really big room, and almost all the rooms looked the same, except for the content in the chests, but only Mizuka could open them. I sighed in defeat and just yelled, "MIZUKA WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU IN THIS MAZE OF A ROOM I NEED YOU NOW AS I HAVE NO TIME TO BE PLAYING GAMES WITH YOU!"

I teleported back to Preston, only to have Mizuka teleport to us almost immediately after. She is a squid hybrid and a creeper hybrid as well as a sorceress. I calmly said, "Mizuka, this Preston, he got spit out by a portal around twenty minutes ago. Preston, this is Mizuka."
Mizuka just stared at him with her hood up, so he couldn't see the upper part of her face, but she could see him. She then suddenly said, "And he has no place to stay so you wanted to ask me if he could stay, right? Well, he can, so Amethyst, you go set up the room while I continue brewing my potions, thank you very much." She almost hissed at me for the last part. I turned to Preston and explained that she really didn't like me disturbing her while she was brewing.

-2 hours later-

I showed Preston his new room after I had used magic to touch it up. I grinned at my work as I was proud of it, and it looked quite good, if I do say so myself.

-Now-

Now that I look back on it, ever since then, Preston and I became friends, and over the years, we grew even closer and became best friends, and played the occasional prank on Mizuka and sometimes got away with it. We had all grew close over the years, being the only ones on the island as no one has found it yet.

???'s POV

I'm now 22 years old. Today is February 25 2025. I had this position as the prophecy holder for 10 years already. I stared at the prophecy that was mounted on the wall. I had already remembered it all by heart, yet I stared at it yet once again, as I was bored and I had nothing to do. Nowadays, all I had to entertain myself with was practicing my magic skills. Every day my magic tutor would teach me something new and I would get to practice it in the long, boring hours afterwards. Turning my attention back to the prophecy, I read it out loud to practice my reading skills. I read," The Prophecy.

Eight together, brought by fate.
One will die, another by hate.
More people become friends,
Until the very end.
Will the souls fly,
Or will they be revived?

-By The Builders "

I sighed and tried to make sense of it yet once again. After a while, I gave up and wandered over to one of the two bookshelves in my room stocked full of books. I pulled out a book on magic and brewing and read it, wasting my time away as I read a few pages of the book I had read at least 5 times already, then proceeded to daydream for a while as I played with a little ball of magic I had made.

Yet another normal boring day...

However, I didn't know that it was going to be my last normal boring day, and the next would drag me into a journey full of adventure and most of all learning things that were never taught to me when they taught me my education. And I would run away and most likely NEVER come back.

Hey my lil water elementals! FINALLY I AM DONE WITH THE FIRST CHAPTER OF THIS BOOK. YASSSSSSS. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS CHAPTER IS 1625 words though! Highest record for now!!!!
