*****EDWARD'S POV*****
I sat in our yard with Bella sitting on my lap watching Rennesmee chase Jacob around the yard laughing. Emmett and Rosalie were hugging eachother quietly, Alice and Jasper talked quietly amongst themselves, and Carlise helped Esme tend to her new garden. We had settled in a new home we had never been to. We settled in Casper Wyoming for the time being. It was almost under constant cover of clouds but since it was not very populated and it was surrounded by the mountains it was isolated enough for us.
Emmett pressed a button on his remote and Supermassive Black Hole by Muse started booming through the yard.
"Really Emmett?" i rolled my eyes at him
He laughed his usual booming laughter "I love this song du---"
"SHHH!" Bella interrupted us "Did you hear that?"
Emmett turned off the song, i was about to ask Bella what she heard when a very thick fog crept through the yard. Jacob rushed back to us holding Rennesmee securely in his arms. We all came and stood in a tight knit circle around her protecting her, just incase it was the Voulturi coming back to change their mind. The fog was so thick that all we could see was a pair of glowing yellow eyes. Slowly a panther the size of the werewolves and Jacob back in Forks, crept out of the fog. The trees did something we never saw before, they trembled as the roots came out of the ground. The pather shifted suddenly into a Native American girl with glowing yellow eyes.
She touched a tree softly "Shhhhh"
The trees calmed and went to their normal state. We watched this new girl but before we could say anything Jacob gasped.
"IMPOSSIBLE!!" He yelled
The girl turned to Jacob and smiled showing her sharpened to a point canine teeth "Not impossible Brother"
"BROTHER?!?!?!" We all yelled in unison
JAcob simply ignored us "You're suppose to be dead!!'
Her smile remained but seemed to turn more...devious "Not dead, simply disappeared from the Elders grasps"
"WILL SOMEONE FILL US IN?!?!?!" Rosalie screamed making all of us except the girl jump
Her smile faded as she glared at Rosalie, she turned and calmed the trees down again. The girl turned back to us but before she could explain Jacob did..
"Her name is Onatah Black Shes my youngest sister, my family sent her off to be killed by the elders because she changes into a Panther instead of a Wolf. Shes been able to since the day she was born, They figured out she was immortal and they saw that as a bad omen. It happened after I turned 10....."
Onatah interrupted as we looked disbelieving at Jacob "It was not his fault, he had no idea what was going on at the time. I am different from the wolves so i knew what was going to happen."
"How could you control the trees and fog?" Bella interrupted curiously
Onatah smiled slightly at her curiosity. " My name is Onatah Black as Jacob has explained. My name means Daughter of the earth. You have entered my land without my permission, the land reacted to an unwanted presence. If i had not come along when i did all of you , except the half child and my brother, wouldve perished. My land can kill anyone or anything. This land belongs to me so i feel every rock, tree, creature. I know its every name and spirit. I feel their life source. Vampires the undead, my land, my creatures felt the disturbance and alerted me."
We all watched her as an Eagle soured above her and landed on her outstretched arm. It squawked at her as if it was talking to her.
She nodded "Yes Zib, tell the others its okay they are safe." She looked at us "These Vampires are welcome on our land, there is no reason to attack now"
As the Eagle nodded and flew off she turned to us with a serious look on her face, her tattoos on her face showed in the moonlight. The tattoos that framed her forehead creased in her seriousness as the swirl that covered her cheek under her right eye relaxed.
"I know you feed off animals, I warn you now that if you feed on any of my brethern, my creatures, I will be forced to terminate you"
Carlise spoke for the first time since she came out of the forest "Where does your land end Onatah?"
She pointed to the mountains surrounding us "Anything on or on the other side of the mountains is free for you to feed on. Anything on this side is not. If you treat my land with respect it will return the favor. Hurt it and it will hurt you. My land and myself will treat you with the utmost respect if you treat us with respect. I warn you though, the creatures that inhabit this land dont get many visitors, humans have a feeling of offness about our land so they refrain from stepping on it. Hence the reason you are our first visitors in years. I will check on you everyday at exactly noon, and will leave when i please or if you ask me polietly to leave for any reason needed. You are all guests on my land do respect it as your own please."
She turned to leave.
"Don't you wanna know our names?" Alice asked
"I already do" Onatah respnded "And you can call me Ona"
She smiled at us before shifting into a panther and bounding off, leaving us to process all of what she had told us.
