Transgender: denoting or relating to a person whose self-identity does not conform unambiguously to conventional notions of male or female gender.
So, basically everyone that's not cisgender. But usually relating to people who were born male, or born female, and identify with the 'opposite' gender, either male to female, mtf, or female to male, ftm.

You're not a boy! You don't act like a boy! (Or girl, for mtf)

Gender roles are over rated. You don't need to act like the stereotypical "boy" to be transgender. You can paint your nails, wear makeup, wear dresses and skirt and high heels and guess what? You're still a boy!!!

You don't have to play football and wear stereotypical boy clothes to be a boy. It's totally okay if you do, but you don't have to. You don't 'have' to anything. It doesn't make you any less valid to not be a stereotypical boy. Do whatever you want! You're awesome!

You don't have to have a vagina to be a girl. You don't have to have a penis to be a boy.

Gender, by definition, is more of a way of representing yourself than a reference to biological parts. Therefore, anyone who says you're not valid just because of this is wrong. Be what you want, you do you boo!

All people who are transgender want to transition.

Nope, not true. Some trans people can not, or do not feel the need to transition. Some are okay with not transitioning, and that's okay. It doesn't make them any less valid. You don't have to live up to anyone's stereotypes. No one can make you feel differently, it's all you. Don't let anyone invalidate you just because of how they feel. They have no right. You can do what you want, so don't listen to anyone who says otherwise.
