Chapter 3:
I heard a faint noise and the more I concentrated on it the louder it became. The loud beeping noise felt like it was coming from the back of my mind and slowly brought me out of a deep sleep. I quickly came to realize that it was just the alarm clock. I rolled over and hit snooze, pulling the covers over my head. I wished I was a morning person, getting up was always so hard. Ten minutes passed so quickly and just like that I was pressing the snooze button again. My hate for Monday's was back like it had never left.
Finally I got out of bed barely awake and found the clothes I laid out the night before. My comfy pink, blue, and white sweater and fuzzy socks were all I needed to make myself feel warm again. I also grabbed a pair of light blue skinny jeans. I scurried into the bathroom feeling the warmth escaping my body.

I brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth out with mouthwash before putting my clothes on. The chances of making a mess all over myself were high so I avoided it like the plague. My hair was in that uncontrollable state that came after going one too many days without showering so I threw it up in a messy bun.
Makeup and I had a complicated relationship, no matter how hard I tried I always messed it up somehow and I did prefer the natural look. So I put on a light coat of mascara and salmon pink lip gloss with a necessary brushing of power foundation under my eyes to hide that I didn't get my usual fourteen hour sleep. I gave myself a final look over, telling myself I looked decent enough and walked back to my room.
Mindlessly I searched for my cute white converse and found them lying on my closet floor.
"Kelsey it's getting late you're going to miss the bus!" My Mom called. It happened every time, I would set my alarm for a decent time, decide sleeping for ten more minutes couldn't hurt and then end up running to catch the bus. I grabbed my phone to see I had fifteen minutes to get to the bus stop. So I grabbed my bag, put my phone in my pocket, ran down the stairs, grabbed an apple off the kitchen counter, waved goodbye to my Mom and slammed the front door behind me on my way out.
I folded my arms across my chest and scuffed my shoes walking down the road, I got to the bus stop just as the bus drove down the street. The bus ride was uneventful, I sat in the middle with headphones in my ears and about fifteen minutes after we were pulling up in front of the school.
My little group had a meeting spot, we met in front of our lockers in the secret hallway that was secluded from the rest of the school. It was perfect really.
"Guess who just started dating?" Eva asked as I walked up to her and Riley.
"She's never going to guess just tell her." Riley nudged.
"Okay fine... It's Kendra and Matt." My jaw dropped, it was shocking.
"Really?" They both nodded at me. "But... But they don't talk at all and they're so different. I mean she's prissy and he's a smart guy."
