Harry gripped my hand protectively as he drove, causing both of our knuckles to turn white. Zayn kept talking to me, making Harry extremely jealous as I flirted back at him. As my hand began to ache, I rubbed circles into his hand with my thumb in an effort to calm him down. We now were in Wolverhampton, trying to find our hotel, some sign of Liam, anything. To no avail. I told Harry to pull over in what looked like a nice little diner, praying to get some sort of direction from there. We made our way in, being given a booth with Harry’s hand still latched onto mine. I snuggled into Harry’s side as his arm instinctively hooked my shoulder, pulling me ever closer to him. It felt nice, being shrouded like this. I’d never been loved like this before, so I liked the thought of someone getting jealous over me. The waitress came over and took our orders before rushing off to get our drinks. Then the yells began. My head flew up in the direction of the noise, seeing what looked like a cross-country team walk into the diner.
“Lennon,” Park whispered, eyes staying locked on the figure he was now pointing for me to look at. It was Liam. I always knew he was the sporty type, what with nearly being in the Olympics and all. I bet he still only has one kidney. Liam walked up to the front counter, flirting with the lady at the cash register. I began to stand up, only for Harry to keep me pulled down with him.
“Harry,” I whispered.
“No, it’s okay, I’ll go,” Zayn said, rising from where he sat opposite me to join Liam.
“Harry honey,” I begin, cupping his face in my hands, “I’m yours and yours alone. I’ve wanted to be yours since I was 12 and nobody is going to get in the way of that, okay?” His features soften into a smile, pressing a gentle kiss to my lips before moving his arm to my thigh. My eyes traveled back to Liam and Zayn, where Zayn began to break the news to him. His eyes flashed pleading towards me, beckoning me to help. I squeeze Harry’s hand before removing it from my leg and getting up.
“So wait, I would’ve made it through ‘X-Factor’ the second time if some lot of blokes were on it with me?” Liam spat. Zayn nodded, unsure of how to respond. Liam’s eyes looked me over before he looked back at the table. He sighed, his hands balling into fists before softening.
“And you’re getting us back together?” I nodded as his eyes flashed to me.
“Well shit, let me talk to the other coaches and I’ll come with you.”
