8: Bad news

.... You have an abnormal amount of amnionic fluid. That isn't healthy for the baby. This usually means that the baby can be born early. And in extream cases death." He says and Kirstie drops to the floor but not before I can catch her.

I rub her back and run my fingers through her hair to calm her down.

I look at the doctor.

"What kind of case is it?" I ask, very curious

"It's an extream case. But there is another option. We caught it early enough where if you wanted to we could terminate the pregnancy. So the baby won't have to suffer." He says

My eyes widen as I hold Kirstie closer to my chest hugging her tighter.

" I'll give you guys some space." He says and leaves.

We just sit there for That seems like forever and just cry and the thought of losing the baby. Its dead silent and we are almost dehydrated from the about of crying we've done.

"Kirstie, we have to make a decision," I say pulling back from the hug but still having physical contact with her. 

"I can't kill 'em! I can't Avi!" He says and cries in my chest

"Shh, we don't have too. We'll still have the baby. Okay?" I say, rubbing her back

We are home. I'm making Kirstie and I food for dinner.

She hasn't come out of the room since we go here.

When it's done I got in there with our plates and talk to her.

"Honey, please say something," I ask gently.

"Can we not tell anybody? I don't want people to worry." She says with a blank stare.

"Kir..." I start but get cut off by

"Nobody. Not family, no fans, no bandmates, nobody." 

"Okay," I say in response 

Its about 2 hours later and Kirstie is asleep beside me.

I look at her and I feel so responsible for this. 

I feel like I jinxed us by saying how happy I was.

But seeing her cry is the worst thing ever.

I just lay there, deep in thought, when my phone rings.

I quickly answer it, trying my best to avoid walking up Kirstie.

She tosses and turns but isn't awake.

I go into the other to an answer.

"What?' I say with an attitude 

"Hey, are you okay? I just wanted to see how the doctor's appointment went." Says Kevin from the other side of the phone. 

"I...." Is all I can make out before I fall to my knees and start balling my eyes out.

I can barely even hear his voice and then he hangs up.

Why is this happening to us?

What did we do to deserve this?

"This is all my fault," I whisper to myself.

"No, it's not." I hear Kirstie say from behind me.

"Oh, honey so sorry. I didn't mean to wake you " I say as I get up and walk over to her.

"Honey you're fine. And this isn't your fault. It's just how things are supposed to be." Kirstie says and then puts her hand on my cheek.

"I know but everything I said this morning, and now this..."I say but I am cut off by

"Hey, everything is going to be fine. We are given these moments, bad experience, to truly understand happiness. It makes the happy ending that much more worth it. Going through this make us stronger, it will make...." Then a short pause as she grabs my hand and puts in on her stomach.

"This so much more special." She says and looks at me.

I look into her eyes and see a gorgeous woman that I fell in love with and realized that I am going to have a family with her.

"Wow. I couldn't be luckier." I say out loud.

Kirstie just smiles. 

Them we both lean in for a kiss when the door opens.

"Oh, my gosh .....are you .....okay Avi? You weren't answering..... any of my.... questions so I had..... to see ....what's ...up." Kevin say slightly out of breath.

I look at Kirstie and she shakes her head yes. 

"Wow." Is all kevin says after we tell him everything

"Yeah, we didn't want anyone to know but you are the exception," I say him.

"Yeah, but please don't tell anyone. No family, friends, no Scott, no Mitch, no Esther." Kirstie says keeping it a secret.

"Yeah, definitely," he says.

We talk for what seemed like hours and then Kevin had to leave to get ready for his date with Alyssa.

I and Kirstie are sitting in the living to when she says.

"Where were we before Kevin came?" And I'm slightly confused.

She walks over to me, makes me kneel, puts my hand off her belly and says

"And we were getting closer and closer."

I get what she is saying so I lean in and give her a long, wet passionate kiss.

We moved to the bedroom and she went to sleep and I was planning something for tomorrow.
