Naruto opened his eyes, finding himself in a vast open blackness and unable to see even the ground beneath his feet.
Sasuke was beside him, looking ahead with his sharingan. "Naruto. Do you have any idea what's going on?"
Naruto shook his head. "No, but I feel something... ahead of us."
"I know. I can see... something... but my sharingan can't make it out clearly. Whatever it is though it has white chakra." Sasuke narrowed his eyes.
"Very good, Sasuke. You are one of three Uchiha who can see the color of my chakra." An elderly voice called out, seemingly with pride in his voice.
There in front of them was a man who looked to be roughly sixty to seventy, very pale, and had white horns and purple ripple patterned eyes. He wore a white and black cloak and was using a black staff as a walking cane. In his free hand, he held a sword. The sheath was dark with grey metal at the bottom, a beautiful silver cross guard, and a small red stone in the middle.
Naruto stepped forward. "How's it going, old man?"
The elder looked at him for a moment before cracking a smile. "You're definitely the reincarnation of my youngest. It's very nice to meet you, Naruto."
Sasuke glared. "He knows our names and talks like he's known us forever. Somethings wrong."
"And the reincarnation of Indra. I'm pleased to meet you as well. I have gifts for you both." The man stepped forward, only for Naruto and Sasuke to take up fighting positions.
Sasuke glared, his sharingan spinning wildly. "Not another step."
Naruto nodded in agreement. "We don't really know you, old man. Why should we accept anything from you?"
The man chuckled and vanished from sight, slamming a ball of bright yellow energy into Naruto's gut and hurling him away. The movement was so fast that Sasuke's sharingan couldn't track it at all.
Then the old man slapped a hand over Sasuke's eyes, purple energy escaping between his fingers.
Sasuke reeled back. His eyes felt like they were on fire so he pulled a pair of Kunai.
"You've both received the first halves of my gifts. Naruto, you have my chakra, Sasuke my eyes." The old man tossed Sasuke the sword in his hand and Naruto the staff.
They caught them with their right hands and the swords red stone turned black and began giving off a purple light while the staff broke apart and reshaped itself into three floating black orbs behind Naruto. "With these gifts I believe you'll be able to protect the earth."
"Protect it from what?" Naruto asked.
The man looked up. "My mother hailed from a different world. A dying world. There are three left, not including my mother, who have untold levels of power. I could've killed them back when I was in my prime, but they were too far away, so my brother took to the stars from his home on the moon and died sealing them away into a pocket dimension...which is now weak enough to break. One of them has already broken through and is heading here...you must stop him." Then he coughed heavily into his hand. "I must go. I cannot remain here for long without my chakra."
Then he was gone and Naruto and Sasuke found themselves in a secluded training ground.
"Weirdest damn dream ever..." Naruto deadpanned before seeing the sword beside Sasuke and the orbs lazily floating around himself.
Sasuke opened his eyes and Naruto was shocked. His right eye was a rinnegan while his left was sharingan. "Wow, I see much better now." Sasuke commented.
Naruto grabbed an orb and chucked it at Sasuke. The orb got within a foot of the Uchiha and turned back mid air. "I'll need to hide these. I don't want my father thinking I stole an opportunity from my sisters somehow."
On reflex the orbs floated downdraft and turned into metallic rings on his wrists. "Well that's convenient..."
