"Hi, my name is Rebecca Evans, and this is my senior year at Jackson High School. I had just found out that my childhood best friends, that have moved away, are coming back to Jacksonville for their senior year. I haven't seen my best friends in 5 years, and I can't wait to see them."
"Mom!" I said. "Yes, honey?" my mom answered. "When is Hailey, Ryder, and Landon going to get here?" I asked. "I just talked to their parents, and they said that they were too tired to come over today, so you'll see them at school tomorrow", my mom replied. "Ok,thanks mom!" I sang.
Then I went up to my room to call Hailey. I asked her how she was doing, because the plane ride from Texas to New York was pretty long. Hailey and I have been in contact ever since she have moved away to Texas in 7th grade. I miss her everyday, but I haven't talked to the guys since 7th grade.
We- Hailey, Ryder, Landon, and I- have been best friends since birth. Our parents knew each other since they were in elementary school, and all of them went to the same college, so that's how we all met. In our group when we were younger, Hailey is more of the "basic tomboy", she played any sport you can think of and liked to cause a bit of trouble for the teachers. Landon on the other hand was the "golden boy". His parents were filthy rich, and he got whatever he wanted. He was one of the most kindest boys I have ever meet, and he is almost captain of every sport you can think of. Ryder was more of the "bad boy" of the group. He was always a rebel even when we were younger he would put gum in people's hair, and many of the teachers didn't like him. I may have had a teeny tiny crush on him when we were younger.
Next Day 6am
Urg.. I hate the first day of school. Beep..Beeep...Beeeep! "Ok,ok I'll get up!" This is why I hate the first day of school! I don't get why school can't just start at 10 o'clock or 11 o'clock. "Honey, wake up! You're going to be late," my mom shouted. "I'm moving mom! Oh my gosh, I don't get any sleep in this house." I hurry up and get ready for the first day of school. I'm not that type of girl, who is super crazy about wearing cute clothes every day, but I'm also not the girl, who would walk into school with sweatpants on. So, I'm kind of the girl who is in the middle. I mean, I want to look at least decent in school, not like I'm overdress, or under dress for school. I'm just somewhere in the middle, where I don't look like I just woke up, or where I just look like I spent 2 hours getting ready. When I finish getting ready and go downstairs, I see my best friend, who I haven't seen in forever, standing there in the middle of my kitchen looking like it was just a regular day eating my cereal. I run up to her and tackle her to the ground. I grab my cereal out of her hand and start eating it viciously like I haven't eaten anything in the past 2 days.
"Really, Rebecca Violet Evans?! You don't even say hi to me after 5 years of not seeing each other!" Hailey literally screams in my face. "Sorry Bailey, I'm just really hungry and you were eating MY FOOD!" I muttered while eating my breakfast. You are probably thinking why I'm calling Hailey, Bailey. Well long story short, when I first started talking to Hailey in preschool. I actually thought her name was Bailey, so I called her Bailey since then and Hailey never said anything. One day, I went over Hailey's house and her mom was home. I called her Bailey in front of her mom, and her mom was like, "Why are you calling her Bailey?" Then, I said, "Because that's her name". Then her mom said, "Honey, no her name is Hailey." Ever since then Bailey just stuck as a nickname for Hailey. Bailey calls me Becca, so it's Becca & Bailey together forever as our parents use to say all the time. Well back to reality, I hurry up and finish my breakfast. Then, we both head to Bailey's car and head off to the place of our death a.k.a school.
In the car
"So, how does it feel like to be back in New York?" I ask, Bailey. "Well it's definitely nice to be back here, but it's really different from Texas," says Bailey. "Is that a good thing like you're happy to be back, or a bad thing like you wish you were somewhere warmer?" I ask. "Let's just say both", Bailey bellows. After that we just all a sudden broke out into laughter. Gosh, I missed her alot. We change the topic and I ask about the guys. "So, how are Ryder and Landon?" I asks. "You wouldn't believe this Becca, but puberty hit them and I mean like hit them like a brick." Bailey says. "Really? They changed that much," I ask. "Yeah, and I don't know if you known this, but Ryder had dated a girl over the past 5 years. I don't know what exactly happened, but all I known is that they dated for 3 years and then he just broke up with her. He was really upset about the break up for the past couple months after it happened, but I don't known why he broke up with her. Whenever I brought up the subject of "her", he would get really angry and punch a wall. Now he acts like he's the world's most important person in the world, and he's a "player". And well Landon, he still the regular Landon King we known since 7th grade, but he has gotten a lot taller and a lot flirtier. When I mean flirty I mean like her flirts with every living thing." Bailey said. "Wow, so I missed a lot for news over the past 5 years," I said. "Yeah, you did. I wished your family could have moved with all the other families, when we moved." Bailey said. "Me, too." I said.
Arrived at school
Bailey and I finally got to school a.k.a death, and as we walked into the school we see a bunch of the girls from our school circling around a person, or persons. I wonder what is happening. As Bailey and I walk into the school to get our schedules, we run into Brooklyn Taylor. "Watch, where you are going!" Brooklyn literally screeches in my ear. Then she looks at me and Bailey. "Oh, so your little friend is back in town isn't she?" Brooklyn barked with a big mischievous smile on her face. That is when you know she is going to do something evil. If you haven't already guess, yes, Brooklyn Taylor is the girl that causes a bunch of drama in the school as you can see. Before high school, Brooklyn and Reese use to be part of our group, before they thought they were too good for us and ditched us. Brooklyn, Bailey, and I use to be the triple B's, but Brooklyn thought she was better than us. She and Reese made new "friends" in high school and we just in drifted apart. But lately, she has been out to get me, and I don't even known what I did.
Bailey and I headed to our lockers to grab our stuff for 1st hour. Bailey and I had the same classes for 1st, 4th, lunch, and 7th hour. So, we both head down to our first class, which is math, as we walk in I see a substitute as our teacher on the first day. Urg.. this is just great. Just as the late bell rings, two new kids walk in. I don't think I have meet these two people yet. They must have came from a different state, or city. "You're late,"the substitute sneers. "No we are not, we walked in already before the bell even rang", denied the boy with dirty blond hair. They both then sat down in the desks next to Bailey and mine's. Then Bailey whispered over her shoulder to me, "That is Ryder and Landon." My mind goes blank. It can't be my two best friends from 7th grade, they don't look anything like them.
