Taking place far into the past.

The castle stood in all its glory, the sun rising behind it from the east. The castle drawbridge was lowering over the moat, the clear, blue water's surface shimmering like diamonds at the sides where the sunlight could reach.

A horse-drawn carriage stormed passed the wooden drawbridge and was heading straight for the castle. It's black and gold colours contrasted with the castle's flags of purple, blue and white - the national colours of the kingdom hanging on the outer walls. The span of white steeds slowing to a stop in front of the grand entrance, the horseshoes clicking on the stone floor.

The coachman instantaneously jumped out of his seat once the horses had completely stopped, stumbling over his feet to try and open the carriage door as quickly as possible. But before he could even reach the handle, the door itself had slammed open, a black boot glancing out from the door. The noble stepped down, landing with a 'click' as he spun around.

"Go on ahead, I have a date with the princess." He waved his hand for the coachman to depart, adding a wink to hint of the things he has planned for that afternoon; his silver eyes glittering with mischief. The coachman bowed and quickly mounted his seat, whipping the reins to urge the horses to start. He kept his warnings of his master's antics to himself, not wanting to accidentally anger him, he was concerned about him becoming out-of-hand. His master had no filter after all.

No one was at the entrance to greet him, which was a definite given. He had not sent a stamped letter to the princess' residence so that they could prepare a greeting, a grand meal or any activity for him to partake in. He wanted to have is arrival a surprise to her - a pleasant surprise, he hoped. His deep violet hair messily sat on his head, relentlessly combed at but it did nothing to tame the naturally curled hair.

He grabbed the large door knocker and hit it twice. It promptly opened, a butler appearing before him.

"Sir Serizawa, we were not expecting you." This was not the first time he had spontaneously showed up at the Nakajima Castle; it was around the fourth or fifth time and the same butler had been at the door. He brought bad news about where the princess was, which was usually out for political matters at another person's castle or residence.

"The princess is upstairs in her chambers. I shall alert her of your sudden arrival." The butler opened the door wider, inviting the man in. He raised his hand to stop him as he stepped into the castle.

"I will go personally to give her the great news." The man stopped the butler from telling him that it was simply unthinkable - just knocking then expecting her to just open up for him - especially since she had just finished getting dressed for an event later. He ran up the staircase like a young boy running down to open the Christmas presents left the night before.

Yuu was not one to wait for someone to just walk down some two flights of stairs just to get to him. He'd rather run after or to her, just like he was doing right now.

Her doors were easily identifiable from the various others, her doors encrusted with blue diamonds, the details carved into the wooden door were lined with white paint. This was unmistakably the entrance to the princess' chambers. He took a deep breath then gave three distinct knocks. It felt as if the world's time had started ticking loudly in his head but then the doors slightly cracked open, a head peeping out.

"Yuu?" She hissed in surprise, her amethyst eyes turning into a subtle glare at the sudden intruder before turning into an eye roll.

"Don't even explain yourself, just tell me what you want." Yuu looked a bit offended at her attempts to get rid of him as quick as she could. Her eyebrow raised in impatience, wondering how long he was going to keep silent. She sighed as he continued to look at her, his eyes starting to beg to be let in.
