Species/ An embodiment of envy, one of the seven deadly sins.

Appearance/ Her hair is a raven black, left unkempt in an uneven bob cut. The strands are always entangled, no matter how many times she attempts to fix it. Her pupils are black and cat-like and her irises sink into a dull grey. She appears to be very thin and her skin an unhealthy pale. Mao prefers to wear baggy clothing, regardless of the setting and mood of where she is.

Personality/ Mao can be described as aloof, always seeming out-of-step with her surroundings. She drifts off in-and-out of consciousness, her body appearing to be an empty shell that wanders around on auto-pilot. Her voice is soft and holds a persuasive tongue. She's a passive embodiment that speaks when spoken to but easily provoked in certain situations. Her interest is sparked at the sight of one's possessions and is then to show uncharacteristic enthusiasm - her voice lifting and her body language becoming sharper.

She can show signs of obsession and is eager to stalk certain people wherever they may go. Mao can also become very aggressive when being continuously denied any of her wants. She does not need anything more so - she wants everything. Acts of confusion can possibly arise when easily given what she desires, often refusing something she had just asked for. Mao is prone to self-loathing at all times and can take words or actions the wrong way.

Oddities/ Emotion Manipulation// Mao can intensify the feeling of jealousy or envy in someone else so that a person's actions or thoughts can be completely dominated by it. If the negative feeling is strong enough, she can manifest it into a physical form that only attacks the person it had stemmed from. But, when it is manifested, the feeling of envy is completely removed from the person's thoughts and current emotions. This power is limited to envy and jealousy but its effects are not limited to one person at a time.

Possession// She is able to possess someone's body for a limited amount of time if the person gives her permission. The time can range from minutes to hours and even to days, depending on the weakness of the vessel. Her body will then disappear and reappear once she has left the vessel. She can only possess a person if they are free from envy, thus she can rarely use this power unless it is paired with emotion manipulation. When possessing a person, she can dig through their minds to adopt their behaviour, personality and even their memories. This can be dangerous as her original purpose can be scrapped and instead Mao may start pursuing the vessel's own dreams and wishes. She is able to withdraw from the vessel if she returns to the general area she had possessed them from.

Enhanced Endurance// Mao's body is able to take numerous amounts of hits or abuse. After a certain amount of power is used on her body, it starts to take a toll. Her skin is not easily scathed, her bones are not easily broken and she is immune to developing common to severe illnesses and cannot contract any diseases or infections.

Power Detection// Mao can sense gifted powers people may have. However, she cannot sense certain powers such as enhancements or powers that were given from secondary sources. Secondary sources include enchanted items, curses or channelling magic.

1. Mao was idly making her way around the park, her head lolling to the side. Not caring where she went and ended up in, she collapsed onto the middle of the pathway - unmoving. Your eyes catch sight of her on the pathway, you...

2. The mall was crowded and noisy - much to Mao's dislike. Searching for a refuge where she can relax and lay for a bit without having the hassle of people asking if she was okay just sprawled on the ground. Stumbling into a clothing store, she caught a young woman taking off for the fitting rooms with a pretty dress in hand. Mao mimicked her actions, taking the dress, but instead she took off - very slowly - out of the clothing store. You know, without paying.

First OC is done, I may add onto it at a later date. I'm pretty proud with this, I haven't done a proper bio in ages and it was very satisfying to create.
