"Rise and shine Sleeping Beauty! Time for classes!"

I open my eyes groggily. Sleep blurring my eyes as I push myself up with much effort. Something heavy and golden was sitting on my legs. "Geroff Lucky." I mutter to my golden retriever. Pushing the being in front of me. But it grabs my hands. "Wake up sleepy, I'm not your dog." A cheerful, painfully familiar voice giggles. I groan. "Sorry Marina." I mumble. Dragging myself out of bed. "Here take a shower and wake up!" She calls to me as I slump slowly to my closet to grab a pair of clothes. Good idea. I think. Walking slowly to the bathroom.

After enjoying the warm water against my skin, and the smell of bubbly watermelon in my hair, I feel immediately refreshed afterwards. Marina actually had good advice. I put on a light layer of makeup on my face. Putting on some cherry lip gloss, I thought I was set. Slipping on a sleeveless light blue shirt and some ripped skinny jeans. Simple but cute. After I dried my hair and brushed it so it neatly fell in dark waves over my shoulder. Set for the day, I headed out of the bathroom.

"You look so adorbs!" Squeals Marina. Already dressed in a cute pink t shirt and jeans. I smile at the praise. "Thanks, you look so cute though, like, I love your earrings." I gushed as I slipped on my grey converse and grabbed my horse gear for the afternoon. As we chatted along the way to breakfast, I saw the snooty red headed girl and her two twin minions from yesterday. Except, there was a new girl among them, a fashionable asian that lagged behind the trio. All four were in matching crop tops of different colors, and shorts. I felt a stab of pity for the new member of their group. She obviously was uncomfortable in her exposed clothing and was self consciously grabbing her stomach.

As we hurried past them, (Marina didn't want anything to do with them either,) I accidentally ran straight into someone's back. What is up with these crowded hallways? "Sorry." I mumble, but then gape at the person I had ran into. It was the same boy that had smirked at me while I walked by the redhead and the twins. Narrowing my eyes at him, I realized that he had been part of their little group. Along with his friends. I looked at his face carefully. He had neatly trimmed dark hair, that was slightly swept back from his forehead. Flashing hazel eyes looked into my soft brown ones. His lips were still pulled back into that familiar smirk and his stubble made him look more rugged, but at the same time really handsome and regal.

Snap out of it Athena! I yelled at myself. Breaking my love dazed trance. "You." I mutter at him. Narrowing my eyes. "You?" He laughed, his voice had a tone of curiosity in it. I rolled my eyes, and beckoned to Marina. "Come on, we're leaving." I growl and she shoots a concerned look at me. Then back at the boy. "Watch where you're going, fresh meat." He called to me. Slipping on a pair of sunglasses, and pulling on his leather jacket, so it tightly wrapped around his broad chest. I grit my teeth. So he was the one who called me fresh meat.

Now in a bad mood, I went to grab my breakfast. (Waffles with thick, fluffy whip cream, topped with syrup and fruit salad on the side.) I angrily stabbed my knife into the poor waffles, and took a huge bite. I felt two bodies squish next to me on either side. "Hi Athena!" Greeted Beth cheerfully. Marina just softly nudged me. I put on a strained smile. My two good friends always knew how to make me feel better. "I like your outfit." I compliment Beth. Marina nods in agreement. Enthusiastically rubbing her fingers into the material of the flowy white sweater our friend wore. "So soft!" She moaned, and Beth and I giggled.

After I felt my spirit lifting, and we finished our breakfast, I said a sad goodbye to Marina. "See you in Math!" I called to her. Beth and I just stood there. Watching her shiny blonde head disappear. "What class do you have next?" I asked her curiously. She reached into her pocket for her schedule. Pulling out a neatly folded piece of paper. "I have Advanced Physics." She sighed, but I squealed in delight. "I do to!" I laugh and we begin walking to class.
