A WEEK PASSED….
Michael had interviewed 5 new people to take Dina’s place but none of them had the experience that Dina had and something about each of them just made Michael’s blood run cold. He knew he only had a week left and had 5 more interviews scheduled for next week. Sighing sadly, he really didn’t want Dina to go maybe that was part of it too.
DADDY!!! DADDY!!!
Michael and Dina both came running. They saw Crystal crying trying to wake Sylvia up.
Crystal; SYLVIA!! WAKE UP!! WAKE UP!! Shaking her harder. Tears running down her little face.
Michael Sylvia baby!! Honey what’s wrong??? He has tears in his eyes and is scared for his baby.
Dina; Let me see, OMG!! She’s burning up!! Mr. Jackson we have to get her to the hospital!! Grab her coat and get the car now.
Crystal: What’s wrong with her daddy??!! Crying. I came to ask her if she wanted to play jacks with me and found her like this. Daddy help her… he went to go get the car in front of the house.
Dina; Oh god…She isn’t breathing. Dina immediately does CPR
Michael: SYLIVA!! MY BABY!!! DON’T LET HER DIE!! PLEASE DON’T!! He’s crying holding Crystal who is crying holding him tight and screaming for Sylvia.
Dina works hard to get Sylvia to breath again. Finally after a few minutes she coughs and is breathing again. Michael and Crystal are so relieved. Dina picks her up tears rolling down her cheeks Let’s go!! Pulling the blanket over her tightly, they all rush to the car.
AT THE HOSPITAL…..
HELP!! HELP US PLEASE!!
Michael, Dina and Crystal all run into the emergency room. Doctors and nurses come running to see what is wrong. They take Sylvia from Dina and put her on a gurney. Soon everyone is running all over the place to help this little girl. Michael and Crystal hold each other and Dina sits by herself with tears rolling down her cheeks.
After Two hours a doctor comes and says that she had a severe reaction to shellfish. But she has slipped into a coma and he’s running tests to see why. The three went in to see her. Michael wanted to stay with Sylvia but knew he needed to care for Crystal too so that night, he reluctantly left. His heart ached with having to leave her. Dina stayed with Sylvia and that helped Michael’s heart some. He was scared and worried for his baby girl. He lost his beautiful Angel and now, one of his babies is so sick. Walking slowly from the hospital room he looked back and saw Dina kissing Sylvia’s little forehead and caressing it as a mother would. This filled his heart with so much love for her. Crystal saw too. They walked out to the car and went home.
Every day all day they would come and sit with Sylvia. And stil nothing. Dina looked awful. She was tired and her eyes were puffy all the time. The nurses told Michael and Crystal that Dina had not once left her bedside. She stayed the whole time in hopes of the little girl waking up. She didn’t want her waking scared and alone.
Almost a full week had passed and Dina would be officially leaving in 3 days even through no housekeeper had been found or hired due to Sylvia being in the hospital. Michael knew time was short but his baby came first. Always came first.
Sylvia; D..daddy…she began to awaken.
Dina: Ssshhh baby, your daddy is on his way now he’ll be here any moment.
Sylvia; Opening her eyes. Y..you stayed with me? Tears in her eyes.
Dina: Softly, Yes sweetheart, I did. I didn’t want you to wake alone in a strange place.smiling lightly.
Michael and Crystal walk in. Michael’s eyes light up. Sylvia baby! He rushes over to her and Crystal comes running too. Hey my baby. He kisses her tenderly. I love you baby.
Crystal; I love you Sylvia she smiles. We are so glad you are awake.
Dina steps back so they can be together and waits in the shadows. After a few minutes she silently slips out and heads home to finish packing. She flags down a taxi cab and leaves. Knowing she will miss them forever.
The doctors tell Michael that Sylvia can go home in the morning that all test came back negative and she is fully recovered only now with an allergy to shellfish but all else is great and she will be a happy normal little girl. This fills Michael’s heart with relief and he and Crystal decide to stay all night with Sylvia. Michael turns around to say something to Dina and realizes she has left. This makes him very sad and hurts his heart. Both Crystal and Sylvia see his face and know they carried their jokes and mean pranks too far. They have hurt their father deeply and this really hurts them. They never meant to do that. They are sad for their daddy because now they realize he loves Dina for more than a friend. Both want him to be happy but it’s too late.
Sylvia is discharged from the hospital as per doctors statement the other day. Michael can’t wait to get his girls home again.
