Tess' POV

I walked into the small coffee shop, headphones on listening to Simon and Garfunkel's The Boxer. I smiled over to Jake the coffee boy who served me daily, he smirked back towards me as I walked over to him.

One minute I was walking towards Jake, next minute I was sat on the floor, dripping in boiling hot coffee.

'Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry love, you just came out of nowhere!' A British accent said.

'Yeah you fricking better be sorry, now look at me, how the heck am I mean to turn up to school like this?!' I began to cuss him out.

That's when he knelt down to my level and I got to see who he was. Tom fricking Hiddleston.

'Shit. Sorry I didn't realise I was talking to you. I'll just get going, sorry again.' I murmured and began to scramble around grabbing my headphones and books that where now drenched in coffee and probably ruined.

Tom's POV:

'Wait!' I called out just as the girl was about to walk out the coffee shop. She spun back around on the heel of her white converse. She arched an eyebrow at me as if to ask me why I stopped her. This was when I realised I didn't even know her name.

'Whats your name?' I questioned

'Is that all you wanted to know?' She snorted and walked off.

I stood there shocked and then began to pace after her, coming out the little coffee shop, I searched the busy New York road for her until spotted her about to jump onto a Vespa. I sped over and gripped her wrist suddenly. She immediately tensed, winced and ripped her hand out my grip.

'What's your deal? I said sorry, what do you want?' She asked

'Whats your name?' I asked her again

'Tess Simmons' she replied hesitantly. I smirked in triumph. She pulled out an iPhone from her back pocket, checking the time she muttered something that sounded like shit.

'Something the matter, Tessa?

'It's Tess and yeah I'm an hour late to school, no point in going anymore' she snapped back.

For such a beautiful woman she sure knew how to be snarky. I liked this though, it showed how she wasn't afraid to stick up for herself. I could see myself settling down with Tess. Woah Tom, I stopped myself, not wanting to think too far ahead.

'What do you teach in school?' I asked politely. This led to her bursting out into fits of laughter.

'What's so funny? Is there something on my face?' this only provoked her into laughing even more.

'I'm a student' she managed to say between laughing. 'I'm sixteen'

I gaped at her, my jaw dropped. She looked at least early twenties. She was so gorgeous, but half my age, it would never work, would it?

'How about I buy you a coffee to make up for me throwing one at you?' I offered smirking at her. She cocked her head in disbelief.

'I can't go like this, my T-shirt is stained' she frowned at me

'Come to my hotel room, you can borrow some clothes?'

'Okay'

'Really?!'

'Yeah, what have I got to lose?'

I grinned and went to hail a cab.

'What are you doing?' She said in shock

'Trying to get a cab?'

She snorted yet again as pointed towards her black Vespa

'Not a chance' I laughed

'Live a little grandpa' she smirked. Ouch that hurt a little. I couldn't say no, now. I hopped onto the Vespa behind her, wrapping my arms around her tiny waist. She immediately tensed and gasped

'Wouldn't want me falling off would we?' I murmured into her ear. She began to go less tense until she was back to normal

'Where to then?' She asked, after giving her the address of the hotel I was staying at, she pulled away from the sidewalk and zipped in between the NY traffic. This was much faster than waiting for a cab, but I would never admit this. After a few minutes we pulled up to my hotel she waited for me to hop off before she pulled the keys out and threw them in her bag. Everything this girl did made me melt, she was so gorgeous. I noticed her shiver a little from being wet with the coffee still and instinctively I shrugged off my suit jacket and slipped it around her arms. She looked up at me smiling as she did so.

After we stepped out the elevator we walked down the short hallway and I unlocked my hotel room door, holding it open for her. She sheepishly stepped through and her mouth dropped, yeah the room was pretty extravagant.

'I'm just going to go and grab you some clothes, go sit down and make yourself at home.' I called to her as I began walking towards my room, I pulled her out some of my old basketball shorts I use for running and a England football short sleeved shirt.

'Thank you' she said politely as I passed her the clothes. As she looked at them her smile dropped. I immediately sensed something was up.

'What's up?' I murmured

'Do you have any long sleeves, please?'

'Why love?'

She looked into my eyes with her caramel ones.
'Promise you won't judge me?' she whispered

'Promise'

Slowly she rolled up the sleeve of her baggy hoodie, she turned her arm over so the underside of her wrist was showing to me. It was covered in old scars, fresh cuts. Her other was the exact same. I felt a lump build up in my throat as my airway began to tighten.

'Why Tess? You're so beautiful'
