The priest smiled and nodded in approval then turned to Jade saying "and do you Jade Christina Reaves take Dean Thompson as your beloved husband to cherish and love through the good and the bad, health and sickness, poverty and wealth, till death do you part?"
"I do." Jade said with a smile, staring lovingly at Dean.

But as soon as the words escaped Jade's mouth, a loud *BANG* was sounded across the church followed by an uproar of Chaos.

*Third person's pnt. of view*

Dean's body collapse to the ground as the side of his white suit jacket became stained with a growing spot of red blood. Jade's eyes widened as armed men bombarded the church and held the crowd at gunpoint.

Everyone was frozen by fear, paralyzed by uncertainty, not daring to defy the men that held the trained weapons.

The church was covered in a dense quiet, the tension and suspense was so thick that you could cut through it with a knife. The silence was suffocating, and then in the heat of the moment Lucas made his entrance with a smile.

*Jade's pnt. of view*

"Well isn't this a great turnout" he said the smile still plastered on his face, which sickened me, yet I would be lying if I said that his smile didn't affect me, such as the butterflies that were currently doing summersaults in my stomach.
"However ladies and gentlemen," he continued in his calm tone "I'm afraid to admit that this ceremony must be cut short. Now if you will excuse me, Jade we must get going, we have a long road ahead." Lucas finish calmly as he stared at me, his eyes holding some kind of promise towards me, and I knew  that his last statement held a double meaning.

"Excuse me?! She will not be going anywhere with you!" my dad spoke up advancing towards Lucas, but he was quickly halted in his steps when one of the guards aimed his gun at my dad's chest.
"Now now there's no need for all that hostility. Jade I believe that your dear Dean here has been  fatally shot, so the quicker we get this moving, the quicker he can get help. So once again, shall we go? Come on then." Lucas spoke up with a knowing glare in his eyes, and that's when his words  replayed in my mind, causing a gasp to escape me.

"oh and don't even think to defy me, because if you do well, let's just say there will be consequences, because you are now mine Jade, whether you like it or not."

There was a mischievous glint in his eyes that told me that he knew that I remember his warning.

I wanted to scream at him, I wanted to hurt him for hurting me, by hurting those I love, but then again, it's all my fault.

Everything dates back to when we first met, and me defying his rules today.

But then again I couldn't just cancel the wedding, on the wedding day, with no type of explanation, or maybe I could've. If only I have known.

If, and only if.

I looked down at Dean, and he was already going pale. His cheeks have lost the color from his smile, his lips were slowly turning blue, and his jacket was completely drained in blood.

It pained me to see him like this, and I just couldn't bear the though of losing him. I almost lost him before, I didn't want to go through that again. I couldn't risk his life, so I made my decision.

I crouched near him and took his hand in mine. I kissed it then said to him "I love you, I always will, and that's a promise. I love you Dean Thompson, I-"
"I would love to leave today Jade." Lucas said sounding annoyed, and maybe even jealous.

I kissed Dean one more time then  got up. I stepped down the Altar and made my way to Lucas. On my way there, I kissed my mom, who was in tears, I kissed the twins, Geyna (pronounced Jina) my princess, and Gared (pronounced Jared) my prince, and last but definitely not least, I kissed my father.

I walked up to Lucas as he extended his hand out to me. The saddest part of all, is that I secretly admired the way his muscles flexed with each movement under his jacket.

I reluctantly took his hand and he captured my hand in a firm grip, and just like that we made our way to head out the church. But before fully exiting, Lucas turned around and said to one of the armed men "hey medic, take care of Dean, and get him to a hospital. Also hold the people for an hour, then you can let them go."

At his words, I looked at my family one more time. My mom was cuddling the twins, all three  in tears, while my father was blazing in anger.

I sighed once again, knowing that this was all my fault.

I shouldn't have led Lucas on in the first place, but during that time, who could blame me? I mean I thought that Dean was dead, I mean I literally saw him die.

When Dean's death proved to be a false alarm, I didn't think to feed off the attraction between Lucas and I so it wouldn't evolve into a relationship, because I believed that I truly wanted to be with Dean.

I also ignored my nightmares about Lucas coming back, but all was in vain, and yet nothing could stop the shock that took over when Lucas came back.

And now, because of my rejection, and defiance, the love of my life is in grave danger, and it's all my fault.

I could feel Lucas's eyes on me as he placed a finger under my chin forcing me to look at him " cheer up Jade. At least I didn't kill him, and if you're good, you cooperate, and no more defiance, I promise to take care of you. I mean you are going to spend the rest of your life with me, so all I want you to be is happy. I want you to be calm with me baby girl, I'll take care of you." Lucas said sincerely, yet not even his soft meaningful words could stop the flood of tears that suddenly busted through my eyes.

But my sulking moment was short lived, when Lucas sighed exasperated, then next thing I knew was his fist connecting with my head, and darkness and I met for the first time in a while.

*Third person's pnt. of view*

Lucas carried a knocked out Jade in his arms, then placed her in the car.

He didn't like hurting her, but her defiance made it hard, yet it was also a total turn-on. But to be honest, Lucas was actually hoping she defied him today, just so he could hurt Dean for taking Jade away from him. But he didn't have to worry about Dean anymore, because Jade was his. All his. And he could live with that.

Because in a way, through Jade, he felt once again connected to Marley, his first true love.

Lucas gazed down at Jade with a smile as he thought "Oh Jade, you're gonna be mine forever, and nothing is going to take you from me. And THAT is a promise!"
