Chapter 18- "New News"

And just like that, within a matter of minutes, Jade witnessed two deaths, one done by her own hands, and she couldn't help it, she sighed in relief.

She was finally able to breathe.

It was over.

*Third person's pnt. of view*

For a while Jade and Jonah sat in silence, heck it felt as though everything slowed down, everything seemed calm, maybe even relieved.

But soon, Jonah snapped out of his daze, and he quickly got to his feet, hurrying to Jade's side as he said "Are you okay? Wait what a stupid question? Of course you're not okay. Um how are you feeling? Wait no! I'm sorry, what- are you alright? Are y-"
"Jonah!" Exclaimed Jade.
"What?" Jonah said, finally stopping his rambling.
"Breathe, okay? I'm alright, I'm tougher than you think." Explained Jade calmly.
"Yes, I can see that. Wait, does that mean that you're single now?" He questioned playfully, and Jade couldn't help it, she burst out laughing, and soon Jonah joined her, and they couldn't control it.

I started tearing up, and I couldn't help it, I just felt relieved and happy?

Why? Maybe because Lucas is dead, but then again so is Dean, the one I loved, yet in the dark hour he held me at gunpoint, and claimed that I left him to die, which I know is nowhere near the truth.

So maybe it was fear of Dean, or the hatred for Lucas, but whatever it was I was thankful, because laughing was much better than wallowing, and nearly drowning in my own tears.

To anyone else at the moment, Jonah and I looked as though we belonged in an asylum, and that's exactly what the facial expressions of the security team and the doctor showed when they burst into my room.

After we've managed to stifle our laughs into giggles, the security team quickly got to work on removing the bodies, and just as they carried them out, two new bodies made their entrance, followed by two identical ones.

"Jade?" Came my mom's sweet voice, and it didn't take a second for the waterworks to plummet from my twin eyes.
"Oh baby." Cried my mom as she ran to me, engulfing me in her arms.
"I missed you so much." She chocked a sob.
"I miss you too." I said, trying to avoid my voice from wavering due to all the emotion that suddenly coursed through my body.

And that's when I felt it.

As my mom held me in her protective envelope, I found myself breaking down, and sobs ransacked my body, tears flooded my eyes and blurred my vision, my heart beat sped up, and my breathing was uneven.

It was over.

It was all over.

My tormentor and kidnapper was gone once and for all, but on that road I also lost my fiancé, the one I started crushing on since high school, the one that pursued me even when he had a psycho girlfriend and an even crazier best friend, the one who got stabbed more than once for me, yet in the end was so weak minded to think that I would actually leave him to die.

And finally, he's the one who held me at gunpoint.

Just a flash of that image caused a whole new damn to break, and tremors of emotions just ravaged my entire being, and my mom held me harder and slowly rocked me side to side, shushing me, assuring me that it was going to be okay, and whispering sweet nothings.

We stayed like that for a while but then I realized my dad was still standing there and the twins were staring wide-eyed on each side of my dad.

See the twins never saw me cry, so this was a new one, but I slowly pushed my mom away, then opened arms and said "Who is my favorite pair?" And their eyes instantly lit up as they said "we are!" And they ran, each of them engulfing me in a hug on each side.

"We missed you Jade!" They said simultaneously, the perks of being twins.
"Awww, I missed you guys too." I replied as I crushed them to my body. I didn't know how much I missed them until now, they were my babies, and I loved them.

After feeling satisfied enough, I once again pushed them away, and welcomed my father, one of the main men in my life, who greeted me with a warm hug and a "Hey there kiddo."
"Hey dad. How did you get here so fast? Aren't we like a state away from home? Shouldn't it have taken you like two days to get here?" I Questioned curiously.
"It would've by car, but your mother insisted that we take our private jet, and so here we are." Explained my dad.
"Well thank you, for everything." I smiled. I missed them so much.

*Third person's pnt. of view*

Meanwhile, Jonah stood in the background as he watched Jade reunite with her family, and he couldn't help but to admire her.

He couldn't help the smile that took place when he noticed the love she had for her family, and his smile only grew when he saw her smile, but then her eyes quickly switched over to him, and his heart skipped a beat.
He felt a flutter in his stomach, and he couldn't deny that over the past few days and inconveniences, he has fallen for the dark haired beauty, but he wasn't going to act upon his feelings.

No.

He was gonna wait, let them die down, and move on with his life, because she technically just got out of a relationship, and he didn't want to seem desperate, plus after they part ways, he may never see her again, so it was no use.

But if only Jonah knew.

While Jade was reuniting with her family, she couldn't help but steal glances at Jonah, and when they made eye contact she felt her stomach flutter.

But she chose not to act upon her feelings, she thought he probably didn't feel like that towards her, if anything, everything he did for her might have been out of pity.

But then again, Jade wondered why he was staring at her, yet she decided to let it go, and not dwell on it.

Jade's foggy mind was quickly cleared when he doctor came back and announced " However that it may warm my heart to see a beautiful family reunite, we must move Jade, because this room needs to be cleaned up."

Just as the doctor finished, two transporters made their way to Jade's bed, and they were in the process of moving Jade's bed when the doctor added "ah yes, please be extra careful with her, there were some test results that came back with exceptional news."
"What news doctor?" Questioned Jade.
"Jade," started the doctor as he turned to her and looked her in the eye, then he added "you're pregnant."
