From Your Screen To Your School

Chapter 4

          "Kenz, wait up!" I run across the campus to the cafeteria, where Kenz and the gang were getting lunch. I sprint across the halls as a bunch of kids give me weird looks.  Wow it's lunch time already! Only two hours and thirty minutes to go. Now that I say it in my brain, it sounds like a long time. I finally catch up to Kenz, Skye, Liv, Joey, and Lucas, who were all in line to get their food. I join them in the line trying to see what was for lunch. I look over to see a long line of kids all waiting to get their lunch. Wow, I haven't been in a lunch line in forever. When I went to school before I was famous, mom usually packed me lunch, but there were the few times that I had to buy school lunch. I remember that it didn't taste as bad as what everyone says school lunch tastes, but it would not be something I would eat outside of school. I wonder how food will taste here?

          Before I know it, we're at the first set of food, which were fruits. I look at the selection they have. I look over at Skye as she picks up an apple from a basket looking thing. OK, I'll get an apple. I grab the first apple in the pile and put it down on my tray. I slide my tray down the metal panel and see what food was next. Drinks, OK that should be easy enough. I look at the choices and I panic again. Bella, don't stress, just look what everyone else is choosing. I look to see what the gang was choosing. The boys each choose apple juice, Kenzie, Skye, and Liv choose orange. I quickly look to see there was one carton of orange juice left. Score! I go for the orange juice and someone grabs it before me. "Hey, that was mine." I turn to see Jake holding the small carton of orange juice.

 "Oh sorry, you can have it if you want." I instantly feel bad for being so mean. Dang it Bella! Now he thinks your this psycho girl who goes crazy for orange juice. 

"Oh no its ok you got it first. You should have it, anyways I'll get apple. I didn't really care."

"Are you sure? You seemed like you really wanted it"

"Sorry about that. I was just startled." Then the next few words will literally be the death of me. 

"Hey you wanna eat lunch with me?" Jake says. Omg!!!! Thats practically a date at school. A school date!!! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!  

"You know, like as friends." Ok, maybe not a school date, but I'll take it!  Oh wait! I forgot about the gang. I can't ditch them! 

         I look back to see them all in a conversation in front of the line, ready to pay for their food. Maybe just this once. They don't even notice I'm not there. Skye suddenly looks around and turns her head.

"Bells, hurry up! I'll save you a seat." Skye says as she goes back to conversation. Woops! Spoke to soon!

"As much as I would love to, I gotta to sit with my friends. Maybe next time." My heart sinks. Now he'll never ask me to sit with him. I close my eyes and wait to see what he'll say next.

"Maybe I could sit with you and your friends?" Omg, he is literally sent from heaven! 

"Yeah sure! Just follow me after we get our food,"

"Who do you sit with?" 

"Oh just my sister and her friends. You probably will know them when you see them." 

         We quickly pick out the rest of our meal. Suddenly, its not so hard.   I look over to see Kenzie, Luke and the gang, all in a table in the middle of the cafeteria. I speed walk over to the middle of the room and look to see Jake right behind me. Jake and I put our trays down and sit next to Lucas. Everyone stares at Jake and then at me. They all have this look of shock/anger/what are you doing, face on except for Kenzie. She looks just as confused as I am. I look over at Jake to see he looked just as shocked as everyone else. Hopefully they don't have anything against Jake or something. Maybe he can be closer friends with everyone. Finally, Liv is the first to speak after the slow minutes terrible minutes of silence.

"Uhh Bella, why are you here with my ex-boyfriend?" Oh shit! What have I just done?

Author's Note: Ohhh cliff-hanger!!! Hope you wonderful people are having an amazing day. I'm so happy its almost winter break. Only like two months away! Don't you love Christmas?
