From Your Screen To Your School

Chapter 6

"Beep Beep Beep Bee-"  

Wow I can't believe its Saturday already. This was probably the fastest week ever. I breathe in the fresh air. Wow I love that fresh air smell.

Knock Knock Knock

"Bella are you awake?" My bedroom door opened and my brother Austin came in. 

"Hey Bells how was your first week of school?"

"Really crazy!"

       I told Austin how the school days went by and the drama with Liv and Jake. Some people wouldn't tell their older brother about boys and drama, but Austin wasn't only my brother, but he was my best friend. When Austin's parents adopted Kenzie and me, he was only 5, but he made me and Kenzie feel like he was our friend. He always took care of me and is probably the person who know me the most, other than Kenzie. 

"Bells, do you wanna come with me to the animal shelter today?"

        Every Monday and Saturday Austin volunteers at the animal shelter. Our whole family loves animals but I haven't been to the shelter since Charlie. Charlie was a golden retriever that belonged to Austin before my sister and I joined the family. 

      I feel in love with Charlie as soon as I saw him and he would follow me everywhere I went, and was the best dog in the world. Charlie died when I was 7 and I broke down inside. I wouldn't leave my room for a week, I cried myself to sleep every night for a couple months, and I couldn't look at a dog without getting a piece of my heart broken off. My mom, dad, Austin, and Kenzie were really worried about me but I calmed down after a couple months. But ever since Charlie, I haven't been to the animal shelter.

         "You know what? Yeah I'll go."

         A smile broke out on Austin's face. "Ok good. Get ready, I'll be downstairs. We'll grab some breakfast on the way there."

"Ok. Is Kenzie coming?"

"Nope, it will just be a Bella and Austin day."

"Ok. Now get out. I need to get dressed" I say smiling while I playfully push Austin out of my room.

I pick out a cute top with a picture of Simba on it. I love Disney and so a lot of my clothing is Disney. I grab jean shorts and quickly get ready. I put my hair in a messy bun and grab a pair on black high tops. I run downstairs and see Austin talking with Kenzie, while dad was walking out the door to go to work. 

"Dad wait up" I run down the stairs to catch him before he leaves.

"Hey Bella. What is my little girl doing today?"

"I'm going to the animal shelter with Austin today."

"Ok have fun. Oh and your manager called. You have an audition, three interviews, and a guest appearance on a disney show coming up. We have to fly to London next week for an audition and New York in October for Jimmy Fallon."

"Ok dad. Bye"

"Bye sweetie."

He closes the door as I walk into the kitchen.

"You ready Bells?"

"Yeah, lets go. I'm starving"

Austin grabs his car keys and walks to the door.

"Bye mom." I yell as I walk out the door.

We get in the car and Austin turns on the engine.

We pick up some food at Jack in the Box and we drive to the animal shelter. I sip on my vanilla milkshake as we park the car in the shelter parking lot. Wow, I'm actually here. A picture of Charlie invades my mind. 

"Are you sure you wanna do this?" Austin notices the look on my face.

I take a deep breath. You're gonna have to do this sooner of later. Why not sooner. 

"I'm ok. Let's go"

We head in slowly as I prepare myself for dog hair, cat poop, and memories of Charlie.
