"I should probably leave. I'm sorry Bella."
Jake picks up his tray and walks quickly over to the table where all his friends were sitting.
Uhhhhh!!! Why me! Out of all the people to curse in the world, why me. I feel like my life is a freaking drama. I take a deep breath in. The only guy in the whole world who will actually like me for me, and not for fame, is apparently my new best friend's ex-boyfriend.
I should stop being selfish and check if Liv is ok. I look up to see Liv with tears in her eyes. Wow I never knew she liked Jake so much. A huge wave of guilt runs over my body and another feeling of hatred. I hated it. I had this feeling of hatred towards Liv when she was so nice to me. What was it called.
Jealously
I hated the feeling so much. I had a feeling in my heart that hurt so bad and an anger towards Liv for no reason.
No. Stop it! Liv was so nice to you and the least you could do help her. After all, you're the one that brought Jake over.
The truth was that I really did want my heart to like her but that horrible feeling just kept convincing me that she was bad news, when she did nothing wrong.
"I'm so sorry Liv." I say hoping she'll feel better
"No its OK. The first boyfriend always hurts the most." Oh my freaking gosh! He was her first boyfriend.
This is the moment I knew I had absolutely no chance with Jake.
I know I haven't been in school for like seven years, but I've seen enough movies to know you never date your friend's ex. No matter how much I like Jake, nothing can happen. He might not even like me back. I just thought of something. What if they get back together? It will kill me inside. Just the thought of it make me want to cry inside.
"Guys, lets not let this ruin our lunch. Stupid Jake can't ruin Bella and Kenzie's first day" Lucas said.
"Yeah, Lucas is right. And anyways now Bella and Kenzie know Jake is on the "I hate you forever because you crushed my best friend's heart list." Skye says.
Skye was always so cheerful no matter what. Sometimes I wish I was as happy as her. She always saw the good in people and never seemed to notice all the bad things. I bet in her mind there is a world full of unicorns and rainbows. Skye's life seems so perfect.
I look at my hand to see I had my sandwich in my hand. I took a bite but I really felt like throwing up. I just didn't want to eat.
Three hours later
"Ahhh. I can't take it anymore." I've been sitting in this room for an hour just thinking about all the drama that happened today. I look around my room and my eyes land on my old gymnastics mat. So many memories.
Flashback
"Mommy! Look what I can do." I do a double back handspring on the grass. I feeling of relieve goes over my body. I did it! I look to she my mom's face. I love doing new skills so I can impress my mommy.
"Bella, oh my gosh! I'm so proud of you." I run to my mom as she engulfs me in a hug.
"You're so talented, you know that. What did I ever do to deserve you?" Tears start to form in my mommy's eyes.
"Mommy don't cry. You're the best mommy in the world." I give her a toothy grin as I hug her tighter.
Flashback over
Wow. So many years of training and hard work all for nothing. A lot of my fans don't know this but I was famous before social media. I was on a kids talent show when I was 3. Apparently I was really advanced for my age. I was doing front walkover while all my other friends were doing cartwheels. But I didn't know I was better. So I just did what my mom told me to do and BAM, I was known as the future gold mentalist. But all of that ended when I got famous. I moved to California and lost my second home at the gym, all my friends, and my first home. I was hard but I got through it. I kept myself busy with interviews and tour and I didn't have time for gymnastics.
I grab my laptop and searched up "gymnastics near me" and like magic a place showed up. I decided to get things off my mind and go there.
"Mom I'm going out for a little bit. Be back in a couple of hours."
"Ok Bella. Call me if you need a ride back."
"Ok mom."
I run downstairs with excitement in my chest. I actually can't believe I'm going to a gym in like forever. I run out the door and walk down my street. I knew this town like the back of my hand. After walking about two blocks I get to a huge gym. And I mean huge! I walk in to see a bunch of kids. I really hope none of them recognize me. I walk up to the lady at the front desk. She looked at me with a kind smile and made me feel more comfortable.
"Hi, I'm here for an open gym. I heard that was today."
"Just go on in there. It ends in about two hours."
"Thank you"
I walk in quickly to see the most beautiful gym I've ever seen. They had a spring floor, a huge tumble track and the largest foam pit I've ever seen. "Wow, this is amazing"
I walk in the spring floor and find a clear space where I start stretching. I do my favorite floor routine from my old gym, just for practice. I can imagine the beautiful music as I do my routine from muscle memory. I close my eyes as I do the routine perfectly. The reason I know this routine so well is because it was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. But I practiced more than I've ever done for an event, and after the meet, I still practiced just because it was now so easy and fun. When the routine is over and the music in my brain stops, I open my eyes to see everyone in the gym had their eyes on me. And then something amazing happens. They clap. The whole gym starts clapping, then the coaches, then the parents, and even the front desk lady. It was such an amazing feeling. I start to get some water when a voice calls after me.
"Hey. Wait up." I turn my head turns to a lady probably in her mid thirties.
"How old are you?" I hesitate.
"13"
"You're 13! Wow. You're perform like a pro."
"Thanks"
"Are you on a team?"
"No, I used to be."
"How would you like to try out for our level 9 team? We could really use someone as talented as you."
"I'll think about it."
"Ok good. Here all the information if you want to try out" She gives me an orange sheet of paper.
"Thanks." I put on my shoes as my phone starts to ring.
"Hello"
"Hey sweetie. Its mom"
"Hi mom. I'm on my way home right now"
"Ok sweetie"
"Bye mom"
"Bye Bella"
I hang up the phone and walk out the door. Wow, today really has been a crazy day.
