Maria's Pov"Princess, are you done?.. Your not readying!" My maiden said surprised.
"Oh, I was just thinking about something. " i innocently replied.
She sighed at me and began to style my hair while the other servant prepared my gown and jewels.
"Yes, but for how long were you thinking for. Nearly a whole hour and a half." She nagged. "Everyone is so busy and heavens knows when the other royals would come." Then my other maiden said while placing the gown over me, continuing to preach worrying remarks.
I giggled at her comments as it seemed as though she was talking to herself.
"Oh Miriam, you sound like if your daughter is getting married." I teased.
She smiled at me, "Well silly, we were the ones that raised you and brought you up. .. There we go." She stepped back and took a lasting look at me..
"Oh you look beautiful, my princess."
"Just one thing looks a bit out of place, your necklace." Miriam looked at my necklace. It was a thin golden chain with an emblem of a dragon with a fiery gem stone in the wings and eyes.
My mother told me that I got it as a gift when I was small. But whenever I asked her who brought it for me she would change the topic.
"Please Miriam, please let me wear it. It feels very special to me." I would never want to leave it behind especially on the most special day of my life. Please," I pleaded.
She sighed and admitted to defeat. "Oh, alright. "
I hugged her and looked at myself in the mirror.
My blonde hair was tied in a beautiful bun with my, crown on it. Flowers were placed on parts of my hair.
I stared at myself for a few minutes in the mirror. I looked ready for the wedding. But, inside I wasn't feeling ready. Somehow I have a feeling that, this is wrong.
That I'm not supposed to be here. UGH! I need to get these thoughts out of my head. Maybe if I just go for a walk, like I always do. Then I'll be fine and the wedding will go soothingly.
But how am I going to get past my maids? They'll never let me go until the prince arrived. I need a plan.
Let me think, if I can just make an excuse to see my father, then I can run down the corridor to the court room. No. The decorators are still there they'll see me coming from the doorway.
What if I can jump out the windo- okay no. Maybe, I can quickly sprint for my life.
Just then, the door was quickly opened by one of the cooks downstairs breaking my thoughts.
"Sorry, for intruding princess but I need to borrow Miriam and Claudette for a moment" the cook said.
He had whispered something into Miriam's ear causing her to exclaim in shock ans placed her hands over her mouth.
"Maria, we are going down in the kitchen to check on the cake, a little- uh- accident happened."
and in a split second the three of them hurried down the stairs.
'Well that was easier than expected.'
I dashed out of my room and ran through the unused halls on the Eastern Wing of the castle.
I made my way down the stone steps and out to the garden. I stopped and bent over to catch my breath for second until I was able to breathe at my regular pace. I walked through the grass and felt the slight cool breeze on my face. I had closed my eyes and enjoyed the feel of the open area.
