We drove for about 30 minutes, passing through green, rolling hills and small suburban towns until we reached the airport. We parked in the annoyingly overpriced airport car park, got out and dad got my luggage from the boot. We walked into the ultra modern airport, discussing how long it would be until I would see them again.
Finally, we found the check-in, I turned too stunned to know what to say to them. I wouldn't be seeing them for months and that scared me. I was extremely close with my family, and I can't imagine being without them for 5 months.
"Have fun in Australia sweetie," my mum said tearing up, "just know we will miss you so much, and that you must call us every week. Otherwise I will think something happened, and fly over to get you before you can say 'amateur boxing', got it?"
By now she was crying outright not trying to cover her tears in front of me. Dad and Jacob were standing off to the side, silently watching my conversation with mum. I walked over to dad and gave him a huge hug.
"I'm going to miss you so much dad," I whispered, tears silently running down my face, "I'll call you every week I promise." I finished, giving him one final squeeze and turning to my brother.
"Be good Jacob," I said, enveloping him in a hug, "don't cause mum and dad too much trouble, okay?" I pulled back ruffling his hair.
"Yeah, yeah whatever," he replied, trying in vain to smooth down his ruffled hair. Trying, but failing.
"Flight boarding to Australia," the announcer said over the speakers.
I turned to my family, saying one final goodbye and walked over to boarding whilst waving back at them. I showed the lady my ticket and got on the plane.

•~~~~•~~~~•~~~~•~~~~•~~~~•~~~

I woke suddenly from my sleep, to hear the captain announce we were about to land.
When I first got on the plane I had put on a movie but within five minutes of watching I had fallen asleep. So much for watching Pitch Perfect 2, cause who doesn't love Rebel Wilson, am I right? Anyway I fell asleep straightaway, and now I'm about to get off the plane. I stand up and stretch my legs, they are incredibly stiff after so long sitting completely still. I grabbed my small camouflage backpack and walked slowly, behind everyone else, off the plane.
As I walked through Sydney's huge airport, I thought about who I would be staying with. At EFA, (elite fight academy) people didn't stay in dorms, they lived in large houses with 3-7 other people attending the EFA. All I know about my soon to be roommates was that I would be living with four others and that they would pick me up from the airport.
I walked over to the conveyor belt that had all the passengers bags on them. Several passed before I finally spotted my army green suitcase. You may think you're a girl why don't you have a pink or purple suitcase? The answer is simple, I have always been a bit of a tomboy and my favourite colour has always been dark olive-army greens. Being a tomboy is also the reason I got into boxing, we had had a week of self defence in PE class, trying all forms of martial arts including boxing, when I was ten, I had loved it so much that I started taking classes. That was probably the best decision of my life because now, six years later I have received a scholarship to a world class fighting school. I'll mostly box, but I will also have opportunity to learn other forms of martial arts and fighting, as well as obviously keeping up my studies.
I headed over to departures where my roommates would pick me up. I scanned the huge crowd looking for a sign saying 'Jamie Sinclair'. Finally I spotted a huge poster with my name on it. I ran over, pushing and shoving through the ever change crowd around me. As I got closer, I saw the sign was surrounded by a group of four tall, muscly guys.
I approached the guys and tapped one on the shoulder.
"Hey guys, I'm Jamie Sinclair, I'm your new roommate," I said, as all of them turned around their mouths dropped open in surprise.
"Is everything alright, you guys seem kind of shocked to see me."
"It's all good, it's just that we thought you were going to be a guy, we didn't realise Jamie was also a girls name," said the tallest guy, with messy brown hair and hazel eyes.
"Don't mind Ben," said a guy with short blond hair and blue eyes, pointing to the one that just spoke, "what he means to say is, umm, now that you're here we welcome you."
"How could you be so rude, Adrian," said another pointing to the previous speaker, "we must introduce ourselves. This is Ben," he said pointing to the one with brown hair and hazel eyes. "This is Adrian," pointing to the blonde with blue eyes. "This is Julian," pointing to a red head, with green eyes. I was stunned to see how serious he looked, I could tell straight away that Julian was the sensible one in the group. "And this is the best person in the group, me," he said with devilish glint in his green eyes, which matched his gorgeous blond hair, focus Jamie, focus I thought as I mentally slapped myself. "I'm Billy," he finished with a bow. I grinned at him, after his dramatic introduction of himself.
"Ummm, do you want to get to the house now," I said casually, not sure how the others would react.
"Yeah, yeah sure," responded Billy, with a huge grin on his face, "we'll show you the place, right guys?"
Ben grunted in response, he seems to e in a bad mood. Julian just nodded, and Adrian stayed silent, I'm guessing he is the shy one.
I grabbed my luggage and wheeled it to their car, it was a bright green Mustang.
"Woah, nice car," I said.
"Yeah," replied Ben nonchalantly, "whatever." Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, bloody grumpy bum. I hopped in the back next to Ben and Adrian, with Billy in the front and Julian driving. He starts the engine and we drive to my new home.
