"And now, for the graduation exam!" our sensei, Monoto, announced; cue excited whispers around us.
"Um, Steve, what are you doing here?" Monoto asked, as we all turned to stare at Steve, who had bounced in, making the ground shake.
"I CAYM TU SEE MAI BUDDEYS BIG K AND ELISA!" Steve practically screeched, making everyone except the little deaf guy in the corner cringe horribly.
"Okay Steve.." I replied, trying to sound gentle. It just made me sound like a human talking to another, mentally unstable human, who could burst into a fit of rage at any given moment if provoked.
"I LOVE YOU BIG K!" Steve screamed, wrapping his arms around me and planting a giant kiss on my antenna, almost crushing my wing. Then he bounded happily to the other side of the room.
"EARTHQUAKE! EARTHQUAKE! EVERYONE EVACUATE THE BUILDING!!!!!" someone screamed, before it was revealed to be Weston, the old rashu (man) with the beard. He flew in, screeching and flailing his wings rapidly, but skidded to a stop when he spotted Steve staring curiously at and giggling at the large portion of snot and bogey he had just pulled out of his nose using his finger.
"Oh... It was just Steve... I'll let you get to it then," Weston mumbled awkwardly, before slowly backing out of the door.
"Okay, these are the rules of the graduation exam. First you will be taken into rooms individually and asked ten questions. If you answer five or more right, you will pass that part of the exam. The next part of the exam will be the clone jutsu. You must become a clone of whoever you are told to clone. If performed incorrectly, you fail. And NO CHEATING, or I shall know about it. Understood?"
We all nodded as Monoto told us this.
"Right, let's get started then, shall we?"

"So.... Bored..." I moaned. There was only me, Elisa and three other butterflies left to take the exam now. We had watched as butterflies left the examination room, their heads either hanging in defeat or held proudly high. mostly the latter which meant the exam couldn't be that hard. Unless the ones who passed had revised well. Unlike me, I hadn't revised at all. Don't get me wrong, I mean, I tried... But it's hard to concentrate sometimes, especially with a tubby half-human half-butterfly thing bouncing around you in the meantime, creating craters in the ground and singing songs about some stupid crocodile and screaming when you see one as you row a boat down a stream. I didn't even know what a freaking stream was.
"Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream; if you see a crocodile, don't forget to scream. Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream; if you see a crocodile, don't forget to scream. Row, row, row your-"
"OH MY GOD STEVE. SHUT THE HELL UP!" I screamed.
"SORRAEY BIG K! Humpty dumpty sat on a wall, humpty dumpty..." and he was off again.
"Keiji, come in here to take your exam," Monoto called.
"Thank cho," I sighed with relief. Cho is the butterfly god.
"Good luck," Elisa beamed as I flew past her. I turned and flashed her a smile.
"I'll be fine, I don't need luck!" I sounded way more confident than what I felt.
I entered the examination room slowly and closed the door behind me.
"Okay, you ready?" I nodded mutely.
"First question: What are the butterfly ninja ranks, in order?"
"Um..." I realised the trick and quickly said, "Academy student,-"
"Well done, that part usually catches people out," Monoto praised, although he looked pained in doing so. He still didn't like me. I beamed a sickly-sweet smile then continued.
"Tenin, Kunin, Rounin... Um... BOCV white ops, Chojikage."
"Well done, I'm impressed. Alright, Question Two: Human Ninja ranks?"
"Uh..." Crap. "Academy student... C- no, Genin, um... Ch- no, wait. Hang on, yes, chunin... Uh..."
I'm doomed.
"Psst! Next is jounin, baka. Then ANBU black ops, then a kage. I'd reccomend saying Hokage, the Leaf Village's kage," Elisha's voice sounded in my head.
"Oh right, mind link jutsu. Thanks!!" I replied in my head, sighing mentally.
"Jounin, ANBU black ops, and a kage, the Leaf Village's being the Hokage."
"Are you sure?" Monoto asked, regarding me with suspicious eyes. I didn't blame him; just a few seconds earlier I'd been stammering.
"Perfectly sure," I replied confidently.
"Okay then. Question three: What rank of ninja do you have to be to be a sensei to a beginner squad?"
"Rounin," I answered instantly.
"Correct. Fourth question; How many members, not including the sensei, to a butterfly squad?"
"Four."
"Well done. Fifth question is the same except, in a human squad, not including the sensei?"
"Three."
"Very impressive, Keiji. Now then, what is chakra?"
"Chakra?"
"Yes..."
Oh crap. I'm doomed. Goodbye, cruel world...
