" ANDY!" a Male voice called. Andromeda groaned." What is it da?" she called back to her father. He walked into her bedroom, he was frowning." WHY IS THE HALF THE PERSONAL GARDEN BURNT!" he yelled and she winced.
" im sorry da. you know how i get. i was checking on it tis morning and had a candle. i had saw the little flowers had sprouted and got excited....you know how fire seems to get when i'm happy or upset..."
she looked down and he sighed." Andy....just....just no more fire in the gardens." she looked down nodding." yes father. to make up for it, i'll.....i'll.......I'LL Hunt! yes! I will go out to the woods to hunt deer! we've been low on meat anyways.and i'm already a better shot than you."
he grumbled and frowned." No." she was a bit shocked."What? but we need meat!"he frowned his angry dad face." I said no! there are beast in the forest this time of summer! wolves, mountain lions, serpents, Dragons..." she gasped.
" We have dragons near us! what about the chickens,pigs! what if it gets the sheep? how will we get wool? we should hunt it down! form a team and go after it! I'll Hunt it myself! i have no need for a mean dragon in our woods!" he sighed.
" the kings woods.." She seem it really growl. he jumped as well as she did." that is a new one.....BUT STILL! THE KINGS WOODS." her father sighed.
" Yes...the kings woods. he has claimed it from us..." She growled with rage.the ground around them shook. her little potted plant she kept on a shelf shifted.
It them seem to explode upward with soil going everywhere." A-Andy? how old are you sweet?" her father's voice shook." I'm 13 da! you know that." she giggled. she was in fact 13 but liked to act younger. He sighed again.
She was getting toward puberty. Maybe past it. He's read stories of the keepers. They weren't uncommon things but keepers were what people called those with the ability to use one and more rarely two, of the four elements.
Fire, water, earth, and surprisingly electricity, not air. They were gifted these by the first dragons. People past theses down to their descendants as did dragons.
The ever rare occasion was when someone could control two elements. Even more rare than that was water or earth. Earth and water keepers were wiped out almost 13 years ago. They are very rare to find.
He was happy to know his adopted one was growing up, and would be a keeper at that! But he was afraid. The little outburst might mean she has earth abilities. And if she had them, she could be hunted down.....no.
that wouldn't happen. She'd be fine. Maybe it was just a weird act of nature....even though he knew it wasn't." da? Are you feeling ok? Da? Da? Your crying....." she whimpered and looked at him. He wiped his tears and pet her head.
" im fine And....Andromeda. I'm fine." she smiled and jumped up." well, i'm going to collect eggs. Ginger hasn't laid any for about a week, so maybe we can have a good dinner tonight! I'll prepare it myself!"
She happily skipped out and left her father to watch after her sorrow, knowing this was only a start of something.
