Your POV-
"What happened while I was asleep bear?" I stumbled down the stairs and into the living room where Dan was sat by the window chewing on his nails "bear?" He looked very anxious so I knew immediately that something had happened while I was having a nap.
"Huh? Oh no, nothing.. nothing at all..." he didn't seem like he was all there so I sat next to him on the window sill "you do realise you can tell me anything, right?" He nodded, still chewing away at his finger nails "then what happened?" He groaned and I raised my eyebrow, since when did he start getting his attitude on with me? "Your dad dropped by to say a very hostile hello" oh. Then he's got a reason to be pissed.
"Oh" we just say in silence, until Dan stopped chewing his nails and looked at me "let's just let them see the kids, it's not like they can do anything wrong" no. Fucking. Way. I'm not letting them get near the kids "no!" I crossed my arms and furrowed my eyebrows "you don't have to see them! I'll take the kids to theirs for like 30 minutes, they will play with them and then we can leave!"
"No Dan! Not after the way they treated me as a child!" I hate arguing with Dan but this is an argument we need to have "Y/N, just let them see the kids and we will never have them being hostile to us ever again!" He looked at me with a hint of urgency, I'm not giving in "no Dan! They're my kids!" I slammed my hand on my legs to emphasise my point.
"THEY'RE MINE TOO Y/N!" I was shocked, Dan hadn't yelled at me like that in over 4 years, he knew that he had gone too far and was immediately apologetic "I'm sorry for yelling, I'm just really stressed out". He was right, I need to let herma and James see the kids, they are their grandparents after all.
"It's ok, I shouldn't be so selfish, I need to let herma and James see the kids" I looked down at my feet in shame, I know that they were horrible parents but maybe they'll be nicer grandparents "shall we call them?" I nodded reluctantly, let's just get this over with.
