Panic

"Eve?" Micheal spoke to get her attention from her food that she was smashing into the plastic plate with her spoon. She looked up, guiltily. It was adorable. "Daddy and I need to talk to you about something. Are you going to listen?" He continued. She definitely didn't always listen but this time she seemed interested. "Ok. We are going to be going on an adventure in a few days! Does that sound like fun?" He was trying to keep her listening and make it sound like something she would be excited for. She made it clear that he was doing a good job. "Good! It will be lots of fun! Max and Sasha are coming and uncle Fort might be there too!" She clapped and beamed at the mention of these people.

Evelyn loved when Max or Sasha came round. She would play for hours and never get bored. It was brilliant for Micheal and I but the others did get a bit frustrated after she would not go to bed for her nap.

Fortuné, Paloma, Zuleika, Yasmine, Luna and her boyfriend adored Eve. They all visited as much as possible. She always wanted to know when "uncle For" was round next and "auntie Zu" would bring her stickers. She even struggled with uncle Bri and Auntie Una (although they weren't a real aunt and uncle, they were the only family on my side that I knew and they needed a title.

We had a few different plans for this tour in comparison to the last. Micheal and I may be going separately for some parts but management needed to talk to us about it. Also Micheal has worked with some designers and his brother to build a set of some sort. I have no idea what they have in store but it'll be a surprise.

Anyway...

Micheal continued to try and talk to Evelyn but he had to wait for her to calm back down. "Baby, daddy and I will be busy when we go so you are going to have a special new friend to look after you. Is that ok?"

She agreed to what he was saying while I cleared up the mess she had made and loaded the dishwasher.

Micheal picked her up from her highchair and cuddled her before dangling her momentarily by her feet to tickle her then letting her run free again. He then turned back to me, his smile quickly fading when he saw me. He grabbed me and hugged me tight, gently running his right hand through my hair while his left pressed me against him.

I was panicked and it was obvious. I kept thinking about when the tickets went on sale and that people may have forgotten who I was in the time that we were away. I also knew that shows alone meant more pressure and no one to comfort me. Eve was to stay with Michael and they would be in a hotel somewhere for a week or so while I did my shows and the same the other way round. That was all well and good until you think about it properly. I didn't know where they would be or where I would be while all this went on, I couldn't ring my husband after the shows to talk and calm down because the toddler would be in his room asleep, I didn't know really how to perform alone, I didn't know who would be accompanying me and I would be without Michael for the longest time since I met him when I really needed him. Now do you see the reason to stress?

"What's wrong baby?" He asked calmly.

I explained my worries and felt about an eighth of the weight from my shoulders lift and float away. The other seven eighths pulled me down and began to squeeze my chest. I suddenly couldn't breathe and I stressed further. I could feel the blood drain from my face and the sudden panic in Michael's eyes as he sat me on the floor and shoved a glass of water in my hand.

We sat on the floor together for about half an hour. I told him everything and he told me a lot too. Turns out that he was nervous about more than I thought and was struggling to cope. We had both been hiding this from one another and we were both on the brink of breaking down. I was still carrying a lot of nerves and negative thoughts so we needed to get things planned and going before anything worse happened.
