Hermione inhaled deeply, so...this is it...she thought. She adjusted her dress as she stared at herself in front of the mirror. The baby bump hadn't yet showed, but the anticipation was there. For the life of her she couldn't comprehend why on earth would he still allow her wear a dress as tight as this.
"Dear what's taking you so long up there?" Her boyfriend yelled from downstairs. She took one more look at herself and then descended the stairs.
As any other night would have been, she was again, absolutely breathtaking...he thought. What could possibly be the reason for him to deserve such a great woman as her was beyond him. He sighed, whatever it is, he was thankful for it.
"Having a Knut for your thoughts again, Mr. Snape?" Hermione teased as she approached, his hands snaking her waist instinctively. The familiar scent of honey and lilac enveloping him, bringing him comfort.
"Just wondering." He hummed. She raised one of those beautiful brows and it made his heart skip a beat.
"Wondering about what?" She asked.
"Nothing, nevermind." He gave her a reassuring smile and held out his hand. Taking it, Hermione cautiously took her steps. Unlike before, she can't go running around like a hippogriff gone wild. No, things would be so different now. She had to be careful for her baby, she can't lose him or her, she can't lose Severus.
Severus gazed at Hermione, then narrowed his eyes at her, looking suspicious at the sudden change in her demeanor. Was he doing it wrong? Taking her out for dinner? It didn't go noticed by her and she acted innocent. Of course, it was hard, having a former spy as your boyfriend.
"Is anything wrong?" He asked but she shook her head and smiled.
As much as he would like to just use Legilimency on her, he won't. It's a part of a promise to treat her right, if she can't tell him what it is, then fine. They headed out of their shared flat, apparating through the cold breeze of the evening...
Molly Weasley was beyond happy to say the least, bearing that all too familiar smile as she welcomed the couple to the Burrow. She might not be the first to accept the fact that Hermione was having a relationship with her former Potions professor- the one who tormented her and her friends for years, but she was the one who supported it the most.
'He needs someone in his life, after all he's been through. And I can't think of anyone who suits him better than Hermione." She retorted, shocking everyone in Grimmauld Place that night, when all broke loose at the announcement of the two's relationship. The Potions Master was the first to recover, he strode to the witch's position and surprised her by engulfing her in a hug, silently letting his tears fall. From then on, no one dared to question them, and it earned Severus' well-deserved respect.
"Hermione, Severus!" The Weasley matriarch exclaimed, embracing the couple.
"Molly!" the lady who was much like her daughter greeted while Severus gave her a small smile. She ushered them in to the house. A bunch of redheads stood to acknowledge them and pleasantries were exchanged. Ginny confirmed the news that she was indeed carrying her and Harry's child as they sat by the living room. Severus' arms draped Hermione's shoulders and she can't help but feel cozy and warm at the homey feeling the scene brings her. She was just careful not to let his hands wander towards her dress pocket so as not to spoil her surprise.
The conversation between the two was cut off by a voice clearing his throat from behind. All turned to find Draco Malfoy standing there, the blonde gave them a wide smile before speaking to his godfather.
