Chapter 9

I left the building only to find Jess waiting outside I walked down the side of the hill stopping at the unexploded warhead planting explosives on it then took Jess down the bottom of the mountain running to a safe distance were we could set them off safely.

I pull the trigger it didn't work the warhead didn't go off Jess starts running towards the warhead I can't let her get to close I pull out the 5 ton sniper rifle aiming at the warhead I shoot once missing then realign the shot shooting and hitting the warhead setting it off saving Jess.

I start walking to the extract on top of another mountain Jess starts climbing while I wait at the top sirens go off giving away our position I set up the rifle waiting to see where the enemy is coming from there were easy 20 mechs we had no chance I get ready pulling out a chain of small warheads and line them around the mountain as a last resort.

I then wait for them to get in firing distance so we can hold off the extraction point the drop ships are coming in around about 10 minutes I then wait for Jess to take position next to me she stands next to me and whispers "if this is our last moment.."
"This isn't our last moment I'll protect you".

We wait for them as it feels time slows I pick up one of the warheads throwing it towards the mechs taking out 1 then pick up another and throw it they shoot it before it hits anything I grab another throw then fire around the warhead it then takes out 3 more mechs.

They get close we drop to the ground then begin firing taking out 1 more mech they start to return fire we hide in a cave below the warheads they get to the top I set off the warheads killing the last 15 mechs we climb on top then jump in the drop ships.
