All hail the Queen .

When all was said and done, Katherine drifted to her room half- heartedly in order to change into an elaborate gown  which was the shade of dried crusted blood , bordered with laces and frils, one that complimented her curves and brought out the depth in her dark ,mysterious eyes. It was kept before her on the bed.

"Anna.." She called out to her mistress.

"Yes madame. " Came a small girl with asian eyes and features who looked no more than sixteen. She was shorter and smaller in her plain white and blue plaid gown and Little Red Riding Hood -hood.

Katherine  gave a warm smile that crinkled her eyes. Her eyes shone in the glare of the sun.

Anna gestured her to sit. She helped her step out of her elegan dress ,tighten her corset and don the ostentatious  gown. It was simply exhausting. Katherine sat down on the carved wooden stool before the huge mirror. Anna pulled up her hair in a casual knot.

"Do not comb through my curls for they seem to lose their beauty. They simply are the enemy of my curls." Katherine spoke , her voice like warm  liquid.

"Surely." Anna answered meekly.

Katherine spread her arms and Anna slipped in a ring, then, her laced black silk gloves. Katherine  knew she was pretty.

Anna could see a vintage Ford rumbling on the uneven forest ground, sputtering smoke and causing dust to surround it in a cage.

"Katherine, look they're  almost here. I say you should be present before they so much so spot the gargoyle. Besides, Mother....."

"Of course.." Katherine said dreamily and shuddered. She despised meeting lads her mother usually wanted her to  aquaint with.

She was still waiting for the gentleman with a warm smile, eyes that twinkled with love , compassionate heart and enchanting looks.

Katherine glided down the stairs soundlessly.

The table was set immaculately for the welcome of the Salvatores. All of this cleanliness and change was unnerving.  Katherine hated change. Add that to her  never- ending hate list.

Thumping of feet over grass  then the marble frontsteps  jolted her out of  her reverie. Somebody knocked and the enormous oak doors flew open.

There stood a man of not more than fifty years of age in Victorian clothes, the knee- length leather boots, the frilled white shirt over  tight pantaloons and a hat.  He removed his hat and bowed ever so gently and gracefully. He smiled at Katerine. There was something unnerving about it.  There was a stream of men behind him stooping low with the weight of heavy wooden chests while, some were being pulled by the horses they were holding on top with leather reins.

Katherine smiled back.

She could see no' boy' however.
Her spirits were somewhat crushed.

Her mother exited the study in the most flattering dress that she possessed and had draped a silk shawl   around her shoulder. Her face was overshadowed by her hat.  She bowed and her dress puffed.

That man who Katherine supposed was the father , took her mother's hand and kissed.

"Giuseppe." The man nodded.

Her mother nodded back.

The atmosphere  was heavy with anticipation. The delicacies were served. Katherine consumed her meal wordlessly.  Giuseppe gave her awkward glances as if trying to take a mental picture of her.

Everything about that man was unnerving.  Something  vicious and feral.

He spoke to her for the first time. "Katerina and I would be pleased to have a moment." Or at least it seemed so.  He was in fact asking for her mother's consent.

"I'm sure my presence wouldn't  alter so much so an 'a'. I'm her mother after all. She doesn't conceal anything. She's just a child. " Said her mother in the most gentle and flattering tone.  A smile a constant feature of her carved face. She fluttered her eyelashes.

Katherine had to admit it shocked her. Giuseppe simply nodded and smiled a dry smile.

"As you say Milady!"

Her mother beamed and nodded enthusiastically all still in the garb of a flirtatious crocodile.

That is Katherine in the picture above.
Do comment about the attire you wish to see her in the next time.  Until then,

All hail the Queen.
