Chapter 2

Erice's POV

I bought a ticket to ride a train. I don't know why, but I've always wanted to try this.

If only Van was here.

I sighed deeply at my thought. I shook my head, I shouldn't be thinking about that anymore. The purpose of this adventure is to make me happy. And...I also want to run away from all my problems.

The train arrived at the station. Umupo ako don sa place kung saan kita ang lahat sa labas. Ngayon pa lang, excited na 'ko. Kung alam ko lang, sana dati ko pa ginawa 'to.

I suddenly remembered the last movie I watched, Train to Busan. What if, magkatotoo 'yon? What an epic adventure! Natawa 'ko sa naisip ko. Asa pa 'ko.

Buti na lang nakajeans ako dahil kung hindi, nanginig na 'ko sa lamig. I also wore a jacket with hood para kung may emergency man, hindi ako makikilala. Good thing na nacaconverse ako para hindi na mahirap maglakad. Now I smell the fresh air of adventure. I took my earphones from my backpack.

"Hey! Mind if I sit with you?" I heard the guy said in front of me. I didn't mind him and just continued watching on my phone. Malay ko ba kung ako ang kinakausap niya?

"Well, silence means yes."

I felt that he sat beside me. I looked at him and he smiled at me.

Tumingin nalang ako sa bintana. I smiled because of what I'm seeing now. Ang ganda talaga!

The train stopped and new passengers arrived. Medyo napupuno na kaya yung iba nakatayo nalang.

Yung dalawang matandang babae sa harap ko, nakatayo nalang. I was surprised when the guy beside me stood up and approached those two old ladies.

"Ah...nay, maupo nalang po kayo, tatayo nalang po kami." He looked at me. "Tara, tumayo nalang tayo, paupuin natin sila." I got confused. Bakit pati ako? But, I realized that they need the seats more since, I can handle myself.

I stood up and looked at them with a look saying that they can take my seat.

"Ay, salamat hijo, hija! Minsan na lang ang mga katulad niyo!"

"Salamat mga apo!"

Now, he's at my back. Napatingin ako sakanya at ngumiti na naman siya sakin. Weird! What's he's problem?

We arrived at our destination. Nagulat kami ng may lalaking sumisigaw habang tumatakbo.

"May asong ulol na nakapasok! May asong ulol na nakapasok! Umalis na kayo!!! Bilis! BILIS!!!"

My eyes widened when I saw three dogs running after the man shouting. Their mouths were drooling.

The crowd panicked. Lahat kami nagunahan makalabas, siksikan nga lang kaya mahirap.

"Umalis ka nga diyan! Paharang-harang sa daan eh!"

"Ano ba?! Bilis! Ang bagal oh."

"Kuya ang astig! Parang Train to Busan!"

"Tumigil ka nga diyan! Nangyayari na 'to at lahat, 'yan pa rin ang iniisip mo."

Puro reklamo lang ang naririnig ko. Seriously?! Can't they just help each other?"

I had the chance to escape but then, I remembered those two old ladies. Binalikan ko sila, tinutulungan sila nung lalaki kanina. I helped them.

"Watch out!"

I was almost bitten, pero nasipa niya yung aso.

Now I owe him.

Biglang nagsarado yung automatic door. I was left with the guy. They looked at us, worried.
