Chapter 3: An Awkward Situation
"Welcome to our school, Allison Harper. Now, please take a seat. We're about to start our introductions." the teacher said while smiling
"Thank you miss." Allison said with a smile. She looked around the classroom. She notices that everyone (especially the boys) is looking at her. While she was looking around the room, she found an empty seat beside someone that looks familiar. She gasped and smiled when she finally knew who it was.
"Mason, is that you?" said Allison, while waving her arm excitingly at me.
"Huh?" I replied, acting confused.
Everybody was taken into shock. The guys started looking at me. The girls started whispering to each other. "How can a guy like him know a girl like that?" a guy whispered into his seatmate. "Who knew they know each other. I wonder what their relationship is." I heard a girl say to the guy. Conversations among the people started to develop, creating theories on how we knew each other. Allison didn't mind the whispers she heard around her, she was too concentrated looking at me while she heads toward her seat. When she finally got to her seat, she asks me:
"Hey Mason, how are you? I haven't seen you since our date." she said while putting her bag down on her chair.
The guys near me gasped.
"What?!? Mason, that guy, had a date? With her?!?"
"How is that possible?"
"Come on guys, he does have a good body. And he's a cheerleader so."
"But still. He's like a nerd or something. He still plays Pokemon, for pete's sake."
I didn't mind the conversations conspiring around those guys, but it still pissed me off a bit. I'm not really much of a nerd, and I just happen to like Pokemon a lot. It just gives me this nostalgic feeling so. But they do have a point. A guy like me had a "date" with a girl like her. It seemed impossible for that kind of thing to happen. I'm a nerdy, smart and average-looking guy who just joined the cheerleading squad in hopes of increasing his popularity. Allison is just this cute, beautiful, pretty, innocent-looking girl who looks jolly all the time and is ever friendly to other people. It really did seem impossible for a guy like me to go out with her. But that was just once. And the sole purpose of it was to just catch up. I didn't really consider it a date. But apparently, she does.
I just sighed and replied: "I'm good."
I paused for a while and said: "When you told me you were changing schools, you didn't tell me that you were thinking of going to this school."
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Well, you were wearing that school jacket on our date, so I thought 'Why not give Science and Tech Complex a chance?' “She replied, smiling.
"Damn," I said to myself. "I always loved her smile. Damn it Mason, control yourself."
"Oh, ok. Yeah, it's a good choice. I mean, if you're looking for courses that have science and shit." I said jokingly. "Smooth moves, Mason." I said to myself.
She laughed. "You're just funny sometimes, Mason." she replied, again showing her famous smile.
"Hahaha Yeah, I guess so..." I said as I noticed Lance and Jv watching us.
"What the hell are you guys looking at?" I said to them.
"Oh nothing." said Lance. "I hope you enjoy the rest of the day, Mason." said Jv, while winking.
"Oh, fuck off." I said as I grab my notebook inside my bag. "We're starting already so-"
"Did you miss me, Mason?" Allison whispered into my ear while she held my leg with her hand.
I felt a shiver down my spine. My body started to twitch. Her voice was seductive and sweet at the same time that I couldn't tell which is which. Damn, her voice is just so inviting that it sent me into this trance in which I couldn't stop thinking about her. Damn it Mason, you need to snap out of it.
"Of course Allison," as said as I remove her hand from my leg. "You are my childhood friend."
I'm glad Lance and Jv didn't see that, otherwise they would've started teasing me about it.
What happened to her all of the sudden? She never did something like that before. Fuck and I just can't stand cute girls like her. I need to keep my cool. Then I remembered something from this morning. The unregistered number that texted me. Could that be Allison?
"Hey Allison, did you text me this morning?" I asked.
"No, I didn't. Why did you ask?" she replied.
"Oh nothing. I just got this weird text earlier. I thought it could be you."
"I would love to text you, if only I knew your number." she replied as she hands me her phone.
"Oh, ok. I'm sorry I wasn't able to give it to you before."
"It's ok. At least I got it now."
"Here you go."
"Yay! I finally got your number." She said smiling.
Well, she seems really happy. Strange though. If she wasn't the one who sent that text, who could it be? I just gazed outside the window (yes, it's my favorite hobby.) and waited for three hours to pass by.
