That son of a bitch mother fucker... FUCKING FUCK! God he deserved that slap, but it probably hurt her hand more than his face. She could see the shock in his eyes, even if he kept his face blank.
Who does he think he is, ordering her around? Seriously, they just met, and he's already proved he is indeed an asshole. God that son of a- mother fucking, GAH! That complete DICK!! There is no word strong enough for him.
'He was concerned for your well being.' Celeste tells her. Celeste is her wolf and she rarely talks anymore. She understands where she's coming from, but he could have been nicer and asked her, not ordered her.
She walks back into the party, to see that she's already missed the ceremonial ribbon tying, and that the father's speech is almost over, yet she does not care. She doesn't know why he affects her so much, but she believes it's because he's an annoying asshole she needs to slap more often. Then he might know how to treat a woman.
Her tremors have started again, and her head is pounding. Maybe she's stressed herself out too much today? Either way her head really hurts, and her arms and everything else. It just hurts. And that pain in her heart, the hook thing, it's back and with a vengeance.
She does what she can to ignore it, and claps at the end of the speech with the rest. Tonight will be dancing and champagne and dinner, tomorrow the couple will either move to the male's pack, or stay here, and find a house of their own.
But he's from Dark Moon, and there will most likely be a test. She knows this, because she can remember.
She remembers dark hair and yellow eyes. Of a booming laugh that shook the ground under her crib. She remembers lighter hair, and much darker eyes. A blue color that is a light blue green like ice. She remembers tall posture, head held high, a fire in front of them. She remembers a girl who doesn't have a face, but a soft voice. She remembers the boy that never left her side. They were mated.
She remembers the day he left, the day she cried and screamed. And the day she left. She was worried. And a few weeks later, they both returned.
She remembers her pack, and the way she was raised. She remembers playing alone. She hasn't told anyone she remembers, hasn't explained the drawings in her sketch book of bon fires, and everyone living under the stars and in peace. She doesn't tell anyone, because it sounds nuts.
She was 3 years old when she came here. Nearly 4, but not quite. She can remember things from when she was one and two, and that's unheard of, especially for her. She forgets where she puts her backpack after she's turned around. So she doesn't tell anyone, and she doesn't know how she knows, but she does, that Kol will leave tomorrow, and Hannah will have to follow. What happens along the way, she doesn't know.
She watches Hannah and Kol wrap themselves around each other on the dance floor, not a space between them, smiles on their faces. It's so sweet and beautiful, and Levi doesn't know why she's always turned away from these moments. They're once in a life time moments. The love around them is palpable and they seems completely lost in each other. Then she remembers that it will never be her that stands there with a smile on her face, it will never be her with a mate on her arm. She'll never get the happily ever after.
Waiter's are on the floor now, with finger sandwiches and champagne flutes. It's all so classy and elegant, just what Hannah wanted, and exactly the oposite of what Levi likes. But it's nice, and it's bearable.
She watched Zach storm back into the room with his friends at his side during the speech. Andrew now tosses her and apologetic look and she smiles ruefully at him. She's still hurting, and that headache is pounding and the walls are shaking. God everything hurts. She regrets hostessing.
