Chapter 4 - Old Friends

Legolas' POV

I prepared Amaniel to leave I wanted to be out of Mirkwood by tomorrow i don't like spending time with my farther but i promised to ride through Mirkwood with him. I had asked if Tamaril could come with us but he refused it. I guess i will just try to show her tonight, i hope i was not too harsh last night. My farthers voice pulled me from my thoughts,

''Are you ready Legolas?'' I led my horse out of the stables and mounted,

''Ready.'' he smiled at me as we rode out the city to the villages sourrounding Mirkwood.

''The people will be happy to see you even if its only for a few hours.'' i just looked onwards to the small village we were coming to,

"Things look just as bad as when I left." I sighed to myself even though I knew he could hear, I couldn't hold it back.

"like I said Legolas, when you went away things got worse."

"Things were this bad long before I left!" I retaliated, no way was this my fault!

"Why don't you ask the people when thing happened instead of blaming me, you should look at yourself. They have told me that when you left things got worse."

"yeah because I wasn't here to stand up for them against you like I was before."

"Open your eyes Legolas you blame me for everything."

"Because it is all your fault!" if looks could kill he would have killed me right there.

"Do you blame me for your mothers death?" he sighed,

"Yes." I said as I kicked my horse on, I don't want to be here, lets just get it done with. As I came into the village people came out of their houses smiling at me,

"Aaye" they shouted to us bowing slightly (Hail)  I hate this. I am the same  am nothing different.

"Nae saian luume'"(Its been too long) I say to them as we ride through,

"I have some things to attend to amuse yourself until I return," my farther told me as we dismounted and he walked off. I saw a friend that I used to go to school with when we were small he was looking the other way so I shouted him.

"Elleon!" I shouted and he turned around smiling, he walked towards me giving me a big hug,

"Legolas, its so good to see you again it really has been to long."

"How have things been while I was away?" I said pulling away, it really is great to see him again after so long.

"Same as just before you left. We have learnt to deal with things now" he sighed, "anyway, how have you been? we have all heard of your big adventure, are you back to stay?"

"I don't think I will ever stay in Mirkwood again Elleon, im on another adventure, just as important as the last."

"Maybe one day you will return for good, however short your stay, it has been nice to see you Legolas." I saw my farther walking back knowing I would have to leave soon I decided I should see his wife and kids,

"So how is your wife and the kids?" he looked down in sadness,

"The kids, they are fine." he sighed and didn't continue.

"Im sorry for your loss. May I ask how?"

"I don't want to talk about it." he said shaking it off, "Would you like to come over tonight for a drink and a proper catch up?" he smiled,

"Im afraid I have plans with a girl tonight" I blushed slightly, making sure my farther was out of earshot.

"Legolas, with a girl," he paused in disbelief, "Are you joking?" he said trying not to laugh.

"She is different,"

"oh how so?" he said quietly

"I don't know, she just is..." I trailed off

"so where you plan on taking her?" he asked,

"I don't know I wanted to show her Mirkwood but my farther has banned me from spending time with her"

"well why don't you bring her here fir food and drinks, I wont tell anyone?"

"That's a very kind offer Elleon, thank you"

"So you will come?" he smiled, my farther asked me to make the people happy this will make one of them happy and me at the same time, why not

"Sure, why not, we will come."

"Legolas!" my fathers voice calling me,

"I should go for now, see you after dark my friend."

"Later Legolas," he said waving me off, I walked up to my farther as he mounted his horse I copied.

"Lle tela Legolas?" (are you done Legolas?) he asked as I mounted up,

"Yes, where next?"

"That is all I will trouble you with it is getting dark, the supplies and troops you requested will be ready tomorrow, I will see you in the morning." 

"Tenna' tul're" (Until tomorrow) I turned and made my way back to Mirkwood.
