POW!
Skylar jumped at the sound of the loud gunshot. Her ears were ringing as if the shot was close to her. She slowly climbed out of bed and slid on her Ugg snow boots. She looked over at Kyliee who was slowly sitting up in her bed.
"Skylar? What was that noise?" Kyliee asked.
"I don't know. Get in the closet and don't move until I come back." Skylar said. Kyliee nodded and quickly got into the closet. Skylar already knew something was wrong, but she still wanted to know what all the loud noise was. She slowly crept downstairs and leaned down to get a good view of the living room. There, she saw both her mother and father on the floor, and three men she had never seen before. Her father's face was bleeding and her mom was shaking uncontrollably. One of the men ran over and started beating the life out of Keisha under Damien's order. Skylar watched helplessly as her mother screamed and tried to plead with the man.
"If you don't tell us where the money is, then we'll kill her and make you watch." Damien said. Skylar's vision was blurring from the tears, but she didn't dare make a sound. She couldn't bear watching her mother suffer anymore as she ran back upstairs. She opened the closet door and told her sister to come on.
"What's wrong?" Kyliee asked.
"We have to get out of here." Skylar said as she slid on Kyliee's snow boots. She then helped her put her jacket on and sat her on the bed.
"Where are we going?" Kyliee asked.
"Grandma's house." Skylar said. She quickly packed them some clothes in their backpacks and slid on her jacket.
"What about our gloves and hats?" Kyliee asked.
"We have no time for that." Skylar said. She grabbed Kyliee's hand and they slowly crept into the hallway. The sounds of their mother screaming was echoing throughout the house.
"Is that mommy?" Kyliee asked.
"Shhh!" Skylar said. They crept down the back steps that leads into the kitchen and out the back door.
"Your time is running out! Where the fuck is the money?" Damien yelled.
"Just tell them!" Keisha managed to scream. She was now being sexually assaulted by one of the other men. Shawn didn't dare tell these weak ass niggas where he kept his money. Skylar reached the back door and slowly opened it. She turned to see if Kyliee was still behind her and she wasn't. She was standing in the doorway where the living room and kitchen connected. Their mother was laying in the middle of the living room bloody, half naked, and unconscious.
"Aye look D!" One of Damien's men said, pointing to Skylar and Kyliee.
"Skylar! Kyliee! Run!" Shawn said. Skylar grabbed Kyliee's hand as they started running, but Damien caught them.
"Whoa now lil shawties." Damien said. He carried the girls back to the living room and tossed them on the couch. Skylar wrapped her arms around Kyliee, as Kyliee cried into her chest.
"You better not touch them!" Shawn warned. Damien laughed as he motioned his men to whoop Shawn's ass. Skylar covered Kyliee's eyes as she watched her father get the same treatment as their mother had just received. Skylar and Kyliee both cried as their dad got brutally beaten.
"Stop! Please stop!" Skylar cried. Damien slapped Skylar across the face and sent her flying to the floor.
"I'm going to kill you!" Shawn managed to say. Damien smiled and pointed his gun.
"I highly doubt that." He said, as he emptied the clip into Shawn's chest. Kyliee screamed as Skylar backed away from her father's dead body.
"Any last words for mommy?" Damien asked, as he nodded to his homie to shoot Keisha.
"Mom!" Skylar screamed, as the gunshots went off. Skylar didn't expect any of this to happen, especially on Christmas Eve. She grabbed Kyliee's arm and they quickly ran upstairs.
"Get them!" Damien snapped. Skylar and Kyliee ran down the back steps and out the back door, disappearing into the cold winter night. Damien and his crew searched frantically for the little girls that got away.
"Search EVERYWHERE! They gotta be in here somewhere!" Damien snapped. The men searched everywhere for the little girls and couldn't find them anywhere. The police sirens in the distance was basically a sign that it was time to go.
"Let's go D!" One of the men said. They ran down the back stairs and noticed it was wide open.
"Those clever little bitches!" Damien said, laughing. He knew it wasn't the end, but for now...he'll let those girls rest.

Daytime was slowly approaching as Kyliee and Skylar walked down the street. It was freezing and their faces were numb from the cold.
"I'm tired Sky." Kyliee whined.
"I know. Me too." Skylar said. It was around mid-afternoon and the girls were still walking. They had been walking for approximately eleven hours. Skylar's legs were sore and burning from the cold air, but she knew that their walk was almost over. They had finally arrived at their grandmother's house and ran towards the porch. Both Skylar and Kyliee banged on the door until their grandma peeped through the peephole.
"Who is it?" Grandma Angie said.
"It's Skylar and Kyliee!" Skylar screamed. The door came flying open and their grandma pulled them both into her arms.
"You girls are freezing! Come inside! How on earth did ya'll get here?" She said, as she pulled them inside the house.
"We walked." Skylar said.
"Walked? Where are your parents?" She asked.
"They're dead!" Kyliee cried.
"What?" Their grandma asked. Skylar tried explaining everything that happened, but she was crying way too hard for her grandma to understand. Grandma Angie called the police and got her granddaughters situated. She wrapped them both in blankets and sat them in front of a warm fire with hot chocolate and waited for the police to arrive. Three policeman arrived fifteen minutes later and questioned a crying Skylar and Kyliee. The girls were a bit scared at first because the police had on their black uniforms, with their guns hanging on the side of their waistband, and mean looks on their faces. The three policeman made it very clear to the two scared girls that they had nothing to be afraid of. After they got all the information they needed, the main policeman told their grandma that they will check everything out. Grandma Angie was in a daze as she closed the door and turned towards her granddaughters.
"What are we going to do now grandma?" Kyliee asked.
"You two are going to stay here with me." She said. She pulled her granddaughters into a tight hug and kissed them.
"I know you two are exhausted. Come on upstairs so ya'll can rest." She said. They followed their grandma upstairs and into their new bedroom.
"Come on babies. Let's pray." Grandma Angie said, getting on her knees. The girls followed her lead and bowed their heads to pray.
