Rover woke up. His head hurt. A lot. But other then that he was okay. He was strapped onto a sort of table. It was spine-chillingly cold, but he had gone through colder winters with his mother and brother. He looked to his left. There was a tray of sorts attached to the table, covered in knifes, saws and needles filled with strange liquids. Rover yelped out into the darkness. Nothing. He was getting more frantic. He tried again. Nothing. He tried one last time. He paused. Something was moving in the shadows. It looked humanoid. It was slightly hunched over, wearing a black lab coat. Suddenly it stood up straight and Rover realized it was hunched over because it was putting on gloves. It walked over and Rover growled at it. It was wearing a mask so he couldn't see it's face. He started to get more frantic and started barking. The thing reached out a paw and hushed him by grabbing his muzzle. Rover continued to growl. The thing reached over with it's other paw and grabbed a needle with bright red liquid in it. It looked like it was glowing. Rover squirmed and growled as the needle approached his neck. He tried to pull away but the thing held tighter on his muzzle. He whimpered at the pain and felt the needle enter his neck. His vision blurred. He blinked repeatedly trying to regain his vision. It didn't work. He felt his eyelids getting heavier and heavier and he slipped into the darkness.
