Lana, Lillie, and Mallow take a stroll through the Akala Marketplace looking for a restaurant to eat at. Since it was a Saturday, all the kids played outside in the warm sun. Having just arrived, the atmosphere was different than most other days, there were more people here than usual. From one of the clothe shops came a crowd of people and camera lights flashing, they all seemed to be surrounding someone.
"Serena, over here!"
"Serena please!"
"Shauna can you-"
"Serena look this way!"
"Miette I love you!"
"Can you sign this Serena?"
Calls and requests came from all around, but the name they heard them all say intrigued Mallow. Lana and Lillie tried to act like they couldn't understand what they were all excited for, but eventually the sudden realization that someone famous was in Alola hit the two of them.
"Wanna check it out?" Mallow asked.
"How can we?" Lillie asked. "If we get caught in the fray we'll be trampled."
"I hear people saying 'Serena,' I'm going to try to get a better look." Lana giggles and walks over to a wooden bench close by. She hops on top of it to get a glimpse of whoever it was being surrounded. From what she could do, all she managed to see was the faces of two girls with dark sunglasses.
"Did you see who it was?" Mallow asked.
"Well I saw two girls with sunglasses, one had blue hair and the other had green hair." Lana says. "It's no one that I know, that's for sure."
"Blue and green hair? That doesn't sound like the Serena Ash talks about." Lillie laughs. "I don't know, maybe it's a different Serena."
"Are you sure that was the only people you saw?" Mallow asked.
"I think there was five of them, one of which was a pokemon that I've never seen before."
"Well, out of all people in the world, I don't see why the Serena that Ash likes would come to Alola." Mallow laughed. "There's nothing we can do now, lets grab something to eat!"
"Do you think we can get a discount at your parent's restaurant?" Lillie asked.
"We're not eating there."
"Why not?"
"I really don't want to see my parents right now." Mallow's hand balled into a fist, "They're never there for me to come home to in the first place, if they don't want to see me then I don't want to see them." Her fist relaxed and she took a deep breath. "Anywhere else you wanna eat at?"
A knot formed in Lillie's stomach. "Maybe we can go to Unova-Subs here instead?"
"Yeah, I guess." Mallow said half-heartedly.
Lana could only imagine what Mallow was feeling, she put her hand on her back, "Hey, we'll always be here for you!"
"Yeah, we'll always be here!" Lillie agrees. "Your parents are hard at work earning the money for you, I have no doubt in my mind that they still care about you."
Their words seem to have gotten through to her, but she still sulked her way toward Unova-Subs, Lillie and Lana following close behind her. They all walk through the door, Mallow finds a table for them to sit at.
"I'll order our sandwiches!" Lana volunteered.
"Right!" Lillie replies, she sits across from Mallow on the other side of the table. Her propped up on the table with her chin in the palm of her hand. Mallow watched as Lana pointed out all the ingredients she wanted in each sandwich to the worker.
"I can't stop thinking about it." Lillie states randomly. "I know I heard them say 'Serena.' You heard them too right?"
"It's like you said, it might just be a different Serena." Mallow answers coldly.
